feel/tone/asthetics, is in the eye of the beholder. thats it. there is no argument against thiS. thats it.. i love the tone of my 75 ri jazz. the tone inspires me to play. its just one of those things. doesnt make it right. doesnt make Fender the best bass manufacturer of electric basses... there are alot of basses that have that Fender P bass/ J bass vibe. there are are so many variables to any instrument. we could go into the details... my point is you play what works for you. that be a squire, or a Sadowsky.. i ask one question,.. does your bass help you play good music.?

Ive been playing bass for 17 years, but in the last 7 years, really wanted something more. dont get me wrong, i so dig my/our instrument. ive always had a passion for harmony, but playing the piano over the recent years, and listening to what is possible between the two has had me in trance. i played with a fantastic keys player from holland on the weekend that cemented the passion that i have for harmony. the bass will always be my go to instrument, but the piano has some amazing musical possibilities. im sure there are lots of guys/girls on BC that feel this way.

[/quote]look at the USA model, ok its not a PJ, but my money is on the Japan being as good if not better than the USA models, and way cheaper. ive played so many Fender Jazz basses that are "made in Japan" and every one was from good from outstanding. the only bass i would take over my MIJ 75 is my old Sei Jazz. really cant see how this is a 75 reissue though. why do they confuse people like this.?

I was just browsing certain slap bass technique vids on youtube. i realised that i dont use use any left hand percussive elements in my slap playing, i also realised instinctively why i dont.. one thing im really not fond of is overly percussive slap bass, i really think it takes the music/notes away.. i never use triplets or any other intricate techniques for this reason.. dont get me wrong, it adds a great amount of rythmical attributes to the sound, and in a solo its great but in a song i just view it as over kill , but maybe thats why i view slap bass as just another technique, that should be used sparingly, and more importantly, musically. anyone else feel this way.?

its great having one bass. its just finding the ONE that is versatile enough and your happy with. the Lakland will tick most boxes imo

Marcus had a preamp from a company called Stars preamps of New York. thats where he got the inspiration for the bartolini setup with the aid of Roger Sadowsky. a bit of geeky info for you all.

I owned a SR5 a while back and it was hands down in the top 3 best basses ive ever owned. nice slim neck, the best build quality you could wish for and THE best B string ive ever played. its one of the classic basses of all of time. imo

ok cheers, it may bend that way but it doesnt mean than the whole neck is compromised. my local luthier said ive got nothing to worry about, but i will keep your thoughts under advisement

i could be corrected but the truss rod is pushed against the two ends of the neck. from heel to nut area. it doesnt need the skunkstrip to push against. take away the skunk strip and it will still act the same.?

i dont really like the negative views on other musicians regardless of what they play, but he sounds like an uniformed knob head.
