1. Its just about the broadest question you could have asked, seeing as this is the broadest market, when it comes to electric bass.. budget is always a good question to start on..? seeing as you already have a very good passive 4 string, what about an active 5 string.?
2. he aint that good.. doesnt come close to that genius imo..
3. love Julian Crampton's playing on this.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jGF2yyj8vJM
4.
Don't really like the song, but refreshing to hear slap on what sounds like a P rather than a J with both pickups on.
yeah sounds like a Precision to me.. could be a Jazz with the back pup rolled off mind.
5. i heard this record and thought wow, what a great funky pop record.. nice to see some slap bass on a pop record in the charts.. well done Bruno.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zxXBL7wYjLI
6.
Don't like the pickup spacing at all on 75s . Infact I've hated the pickups on every Jazz I've tried.
there not all 60's spacing, i jhave an MIJ 75 ri with 70's spacing

Jazz

this is one killer jazz bass.. 96 MIJ non export 75 RI Jazz bass.. now has Lindy Fralin single coil pickups.. the tone is very aggressive 75 jazz bass, but can be very smooth also, the fralins are fantastic pckups..its quite rare for an MIJ 75, as it has 70's spacing.. i now know that it was a special order MIJ 75.... stupidly was going to trade it recently..
11. if the tone is for you, maybe a j bass with a p pickup....
12. Review from the man himself Pete...

17.
I think anyone that thinks this way is just getting old, I thought Jessie J and Katy Perry were both known for being song writers that had sucess writing for other people at a young age then decided to take a bit of the limelight for themselves? Lady Gaga is a great vocalist, pianist, songwriter and to top it off can dance too. The latest Justin trousersnake song is quite catchy if I remember and he can dance too. I'm not really into that sort of music but people just toss these names into these discussions because their own record collection ended when they left college in 1984, people have said it since the birth of popular music, rubbish, can't tell what they are singing, hair like girls blah blah.
i must be getting old then.. i remember my dad saying to me when i was 18ish. i was listening to alot of house music.. he said whats that repetitive rubbish.. this was in the days of chicago house when all the recordings were played live with live instruments.. i never wanted to get to a point where someone says im old because im not hip with the new stuff.. imo the greatest new stuff is not in the charts... its somewhere where you need to dig a little to find it...
18.
That's a joke right?
im not having a good day with my bad words and posts. obviously thats not the case FlyFisher... im not my self im afraid.. speaking without thinking..
19. Had a conversation today with my sister about who might be the next super star of music.. and we really couldnt think of any.. then we came on to the conversation that Prince is the only real living legend that is still making music... i really couldnt think of any that could come close to him. micheal jackson, the boss, james brown, madonna,,Stevie Wonder .. makes me think that making music was harder to learn back then.? i had another conversation with a great drummer who was in the mind set that music was being diluted.. i agree...
20. ive always thought anyone you play with who has disapproval of the gear you use, is either not worth making music with, or is very immature
21. thats a very keen price for one of these.. bargain..
22. that one special lookin Sei..
23. thats one bass, thats got to have a seriously bad ass tone..! wood like this is why i have my name..
24. i cant vouch for every vid but there are some f***in cool ones.. a few of my favorites are Tal Wilkenfield,.. the Louis Johnson slap is very cool.. made me laugh when i saw the Jeff Berlin one. "super technical approach".. ? i have to say im not a fan of that dick head... yes i said it..... im sure you hve seen most of these vids but maybe not on one site,.the stand outs for me were john entwistle, tom hamilton from aerosmith,Mark King, and that Micheal Manring vid is fantastic.. http://famousbassplayers.com/
