1. I had a VJ with the same quilted maple top but cherry red and fretted. To my ears the Bartolini,s are way nicer than EMG, it's a sharp defined tone anyways with that neck , for me the EMG,s are too much. The barts smooth it out a little.

4.
I have an app called Loopz on my phone. Pretty limited but handy for jamming.
it's limited but great. The drum beat "pushing it" is great.
5. I work at Oxfam on a saturday with a great friend of mine and this came in. No idea what it is other than a wah wah. Anyone seem this make. It says CB Rockson. It's built like a tank. It was free as this oxfam dont take electrics. Any ideas.?
6.
Yeah, I agree... I don't need top markers at all, and the side markers are not a *must*, but they do come handy at times so having something you can see is handy. Years ago I had a Warwick Corvette, very dark neck and tiny markers and I did couple of gigs with very distracting lights... so I bought some glow in the dark paint and powder, and mixed both to make a thick paste and added small blobs on the side markers. It served two purposes: it would glow brightly if there was any UV light on stage (or if I charged them with a tiny uv torch) but even without glowing the 'bumps' were very handy landmarks. Not the prettiest solution but it worked... and could be removed easily too without marks.
I'm not sure I could do without them Jose. Only maybe before the twelfth fret. Never look at the top markers. I do wish my Elwood had pearl blocks mind

I'll get me coat.
8. Sometimes I just want to jam. But alot of musicians don't actually know, either how to or dont know the language of music. It really suffocates music when people don't understand even the basics.
9. I use a really simple app called loopz. I just plug my phone in and I have lots of time sig,s styles, tempo,s etc. Very easy very simple. Wish it was more extensive mind. The best thing for me is YouTube backing tracks. It's great chord change practice.
10. These look and sound really nice. Like a cross between an Ibanez BTB and an MTD. They sound awsome.Shame it has Marcus Miller in big letters on the headstock.Although he's up there with my favourite bass players, I really don't want his name all over a bass I'm playing. http://youtu.be/2PXpzG5SLTc You know the drill if the soaps aren't up to it put in sone Nordy Fat Stacks and an Aguilar pre. Love the flame maple. Now that sh*t turns it up.
11. I think Xotic make a very good argument to buy there jazz basses over others .Amazingly versatile, Not massively expensive, especially second hand. Supreme Jazz basses. They will be my next Jazz bass.
12. Get all my bass gear in this. Bass, 2 cabs, bags etc. Still got room for a passenger. It's a rocket as well. Nissan Micra 160 sr. Love this little car.
13.
Ah! Is that advice from DR?
Yeah if you look inside the packet they advise it.
14. There is a balance to be had, as is, in the rest of life as a whole. I would favour the bigger perpercentage in music.
15. Ha ha sorry wrong forum. Please move.
16. Seen various adverts for basses wanted etc. Always makes me laugh. Oh must be between 20 to 30, must play a black pbass, must not wear trainers, must have a stylish haircut. Etc etc, Blah blah. The sort of band I would never be interested in. Where's the, must be able read chord charts, must have good musical communication skills, etc etc. Rant over.
17. Wow that is stunning. Love Rob Allen basses.
18. It's a strange one. I do get paid to play bass. But even if I didn't I would consider myself a musician.it's just the way that I think.
19. I'm aware I've posted this before but someone had this live Donny album on at his house. First off Doñny has the best voice of any singer ever imo. And Willie Weeks,s bass playing on that p bass is just sublime. He must have been very aware of J Jamersons playing . very musical. http://youtu.be/YLUh70zp0LE
20. 675 for a Zoot Jazz bass?? That right there is a bargain.!
21. Marcus played on a huge amount of records and you wouldn't know it was him. He really was/is a great session musician. He doesn't always sound like Marcus. Very adaptable bass player.
22. What does that sticker on the back of the headstock say. This is a non export 75 I guess. ?
23. I've never owned one but my sisters husband owns an early 80,s sunburst JV P and it is killer. So much punch. The slap tone is amazing.
24.
If you only want it for recording Youtube demos that seems overkill. Do you need to record more than a couple of tracks, say a bass and a mic?
I would maybe want it have more options in the near future. My research will continue.
