1. I'm not sure about breathability. Bit I have never sweated with one on. Imo the best strap is the Sadowsky. It's wide, it's super light, it will last a life time. It's made of neoprene. Its washable also. The only strap I will ever use.
2. Adjustable straps adjusting themselves.?Never heard that before. I have a Sadowsky strap and it is the only strap I will ever need.Just buy a decent strap . I really can't see how the length would move.
3. Tomorrow I will be installing some Bartolini 59j's into the Elwood 5. Out come the Delano,s.And the the Delano sonar 2. In will go an East J Deluxe. Im a Bartolini man. Had the same combo in a Sei jazz and it sounded amazing.
4. Excuse me if I'm being think, it's quite possible. I've always been baffled as to why the trade value of a bass, is different/more than the sale value. Surely it's worth a certain price regardless of trade or sale. Can someone explain.
5. I really don't have to say how great these basses are. Ridliculous price/s for such amazingly well made and sounding instruments. Mine is as good as any Sadowsky Metro that I've ever played or owned.
6. Yes it would devalue it. People generally like an original bass imo. A body re shape, then a partial respray. That quite a few work hours. I cant imagine that being cheap if it's a good Luthier. Best thing to do is get a quote. I'm not trying to put you off, but it's alot of work for a contour. Best of luck though. Ps. Just a thought. I'm having just a gloss finish put on a bass body and it's £130.Gives you an idea of the pricing.
7. +1 for the Aguilar ag500sc. I have one with a gs 212. Sounds fantastic.
8. Everyone likes a good bass lick. I pick them up now and then. Share your favorite licks. This is a great one in B minor from Daniel Sing.always good to know the theory behind them i must add. But also good for your left and right hand technique. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9yxME_UcsCY
9. The YouTube video of her teaching Gene Simon how to play bass is great.
10. http://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/Sadowsky_NYC_Jazz_4_Masterbuilt.html This is just wonderful. That instrument must sound killer. Just sayin.
11.
dont screw it in ! A normal rack is not too bad, but rack bags! it like wrapping a quilt around it, it protects it in transit, but if you leave the amp in and turn it on, then its going to heat up. i know some amps like the swr the metal case is a part of the cooling system in that the heat sinks are bolted to it to help dissipate the heat away from the transistors, if you go wrapping it in protective padding, and then turn it on !, for the sake of 10 seconds at a gig, take it out the bag and let it breath as intended.
Funkgod, I want to keep it in the bag to be honest. Especially if i have a rack tuner above it. I would like to put the Mac Pro on top also.
12. The Aguilar AG500 is vented on the top. And the Gator bags are tight with the top of the amp.
13. I think a 3u it is from Gator. I'm ordering a Korg Pitch Black rack tuner, so that will be ideal.
14. Any one know about rack Bags and the need for air flow. I've heard the Gator 2u has very little clearance at the top. My aguilar is vented on the top at the rear left.
15. Looks like it will be either SKB or Gator, i cant find any from LD systems. Hmmmm..... Research, I do like to research what I buy.
16. Hey all. I'm after a 2u rack bag, preferably with long strap etc. All i can seem to find is bags from gator or skb. Who else makes them.? Although the Gator GRB case looks good. Any other ideas.?
17. Hey all. I'm after a 2u rack bag, preferably with long strap etc. All j can seem ro find is bags from gator or skb. Who else makes them.? Any ideas.
18. Sorry please delete.
19. Seems very very good so far. I may cancel before 14 days then come back when I have the cash.it definitely seems worth the $168.I presume that's a years subscription. ?
20. Has anyone actually signed up for his tutorials online. I'm a little confused. I've just started a 14 day trial, but after that it's $168!. I thought it was just Scott and his bass lessons.? Not the SBL academy.?
21. Does any one know if they sell pickguard for there instruments.?
22. I'm not sure it's about output. It's about tone.
23.
A number of folks here are saying they use both volumes on full. I've found that this gives lower output than if you back one volume off a little. Am I missing something?
24.
All volume and tone pots on 100%. My sound comes from my amp, my tone comes from my fingers. Blue
25.
That sums it up nicely, I'd say.
but it didn't answer his question
