Music or playing doesn't have to be about what I just banged on about. Music is about having fun. No doubt and that's why we play.regardless of where we are musically.

Bottom line is musical theory is about communication. Good musicians should be able to communicate within the language of music to each other. I don't want to play with a guitarst who doesn't know what chords he's playing, thus I can't play the best bass line to make the music as good as it should be. I think alot of people want to take the easy route, and just get by.Learning theory is hard work. But it's very rewarding. Reading music I don't think is necessary. Music is about having fun, but as my Dad says, nothing really great came from anything that was easy.

Give steels a while. I don't like steels straight out of the box. I always bang on about DR strings. But I put a fresh set on my Jazz bass and the tacky feel of new steel strings is obvious and I don't like it! Played the bass for an hour straight. Just WOW. The strings came alive. Yes I am a DR fanboy

The thing is with strings you settle on what you like,because strings seem to be a little thing that you really shouldn't or dont want to spend alot of money on to get a good tone. If thou is happy though tis all good

Why not just play regular DR strings.? Playing with a pick make the strings last way longer anyways. DR make long lasting strings, this coating stuff I just don't buy.

Well for one thing I know the Mono bags are rresistant . Mono told me that the inside protection is not just foam, its a poly plastic foam with some sort of glue bonded with it that doesnt absorb water.?Me and the wife went out for dinner last night and I left it in the bath. This bag has been floating on the top for 17 hours. There is no wet inside the bag at all. I've been informed by the guys at Mono. From there advise i scrubbed it in the bath then put it in the shower to drain all the soap out of it. I think it's important to not use detergent. Just washing up liquid. The detergent will eat away at some fabrics. Drying it in a normal temp room. I don't know which fabrics are involved but best not take the risk with a £150 bag. If I turn up at my next live appointment with my bass in a bin liner, it didn't go well.

One thing I love about this forum and the people on it is, when someone asks for recommendations, the thread to begin with, is very informative, but after a while just overtakes what ever the OP is asking for and a discussion starts whay past his/her needs.😂 very funny and charming.
