  1. And now I'm trapped deep down a rabbit hole...
  2. This is the only one I've actually downloaded... not a bad little drum VST to star with! Well, Norwegian Folk Trip Punk is what I'm aiming for... Realistically, I have no idea. I'll start by getting to grips with the basics of recording via traditional bass/drums/guitar etc. and I dare say most of what I'll do will be based around that. However... I'm all up for broader horizons. I'm tempted to get Reason as I remember that being fun to use back in the day! Let's start with free VSTs, is there anywhere to get a good bank of free VSTs to have a play with before perhaps then committing to paying for a few.
  3. Evening all, I've recently set myself up with a little home studio, I have all the hardware I need (for now!) and am running Reaper as a DAW until my new laptop arrives, I'll then be running Cubase (although Reaper seems pretty decent!) I'm drowning in a sea of choices when it comes to VSTs... I don't really know what's good, what VSTs are worth having, if there are decent collections of free VSTs etc etc. So, as much as I am doing my own research, I'd very much appreciate a little guidance/advice from 'those in the know'. Free is better at the moment as the wallet is a bit lean after the initial hardware set up! Thanks in advance! Russ.
  4. Just to say, Manny is a great seller! Bought a few bits last week, they arrived the next day. Buy with confidence!
  5. Yeah, I did gather that much! 😂 Love the 2hd though...
  6. bought a pair of AKG K702 Headphones and a Focusrite 2i2, both in excellent condition, both arrived very quickly! Another trustworthy member of the bass basschat community!
  7. Well, they arrived! I'm not sure on what's going on with the labels... E-6, B-5, E-4th, A-3rd, D-2hd (yes, 2hd, not 2nd), G-1st... They 'look' reasonable in terms of how they've been wound and ends wrapped. £6, I mean even if they string a bass for 2 weeks then I'll be impressed!
  8. eBay massively favours the buyer. If you sold the flight case, and he came to inspect, and for whatever reason decided not to buy (or in your case returned 5 minutes later) eBay will absolutely side with him. When being paid by PayPal the buyer has the right to returns even if you state 'no returns'. Same rights as a buyer purchasing from a shop. The plus side here is that he probably thought he got the steal of the century, I mean a flight case with a Markbass 4x10 for £100? THAT is a great deal! His idiocy of not reading the full ad will likely be a lesson learnt for him. You did nothing wrong, he just didn't read the advert. Happens I'm afraid! Maybe take photos without the cab just so no foolish fool can make the same mistake!
  9. Bump. May trade for a high end lap top. Would need to be AT LEAST i7, 16GB RAM, 512 SSD.
  10. I think Mesa just built out cabs from what they have lying around! One of my cabs has a switchable crossover and tweeter dial, the other just has the tweeter dial, plus I can't see in the catalogue any that were with the silver/tan grille, I suspect the silver/tab grille one was perhaps a custom order that didn't come to fruition.
  11. Will report back upon arrival! Expect nothing good! 😂
  12. Once you've successfully sold a bass abroad, that trepidation will pass. I've sold more basses than I remember to those overseas, Mostly to Europe, but some to USA, Brazil, Russia (Russia was a concern as they have a habit of 'losing' large private parcels from the UK). But all have arrived with no issue. If you follow the basic rules (insurance, packaging, money clearing etc) then you'll be fine.
  13. Evening, I'm debating putting together a little home studio and I have no idea really where to start... I don't have much knowledge in this area, and I'd appreciate some guidance on a half-decent (but relatively budget) set up. I am starting from absolute scratch and have a clean slate to start from. What do I need? What's good? I only have a small space to work with so please bear that in mind! Treat me as an absolute newbie. Thanks in advance! Russ.
  14. I have a Hartke... Currently serving as a garden potting table. (Disclaimer: It was utterly beyond any kind or repair! All speakers ruined and the chassis riddled with damp and mould.)
  15. I do have some cheese that needs cutting...
  16. I make sure the bass is broken before sending... that way there's no surprises.
  17. If I had the room for another bass, I would buy this back! Great bass...
  18. 😂 I agree!! I an under absolutely no illusion that these will be terrible, but £6 isn't much of a spend... I'll find a use for them somewhere!
  19. So, I've been trawling eBay to see what 6 string basses are on offer and came across these... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/153818811958 £6 for a set of 6 strings for bass... I have no doubt whatsoever that they will very likely be utterly unusable and terrible, but the bargain hunter in me is too curious, I have bought a set and will update once they're delivered. £6... they can't possibly be good, can they?? 🤔
  20. Reckon if you'd post it, it would sell instantly! FYI - If you use ParcelMonkey.com it'll only cost £12 for 48hr post.
  21. You say that but your 6 string Shuker has been for sale for 3 years...
  22. Hope who ever bought it really enjoys it!
