1. USA Geddy Lee. Lovely! Neck is absolutely to die for.
2. This is the case you get with the current American Profesional series J/P basses. Quite literally brand new. It's slightly deeper than the last ones and somewhat frustratingly doesn't fit in my storage area and as such needs to go !
3. 11 years ? Good lord. I saw them a few times on that tour. They were generally excellent.
4. I'd have it but you're a bit of a trek from me I think.
5. This chap. https://m.facebook.com/bengriffithsmusic/?locale2=en_GB
6. Bought the cabs separately and annoyingly the speakers are different colours. Light enough but not as loud as might expect. Cabs don't seem to be ported either ?
7. Ffs, I really want this lol ! I've just bought an AVRI P though
8. I had an Ampeg fridge provided at a rehearsal room once, which was rather exciting as you can imagine. It's a bit random what I get at our place generally but I've never felt the need to bring my own amp, primarily because I can't be arsed loading into the car.
9. Whilst being silly at a rehearsal doing a two hands on neck tapping thing I got the worst blister ever from some flatwounds, so much so I had to use a pick at a gig that week. (Due to a historical hand injury I can barely hold a pick so that was interesting) Anyhow, I digress. I love the sound of flats these days, but I really dislike the tension, primarily because I find them impossible to bend a full tone. I tend to bend the strings a lot, god knows why, too much Sabbath as a kid I guess. I'm interested in Colbalts, as I'd like a bit of top end on the thin strings but lots of fundemental note on the thick strings. Fender flats play really well for me, they're not too stiff. La Bellas were an utter disaster, especially when it was humid. I did a jam night with them on my jazz and it was like playing a guitar covered in glue. Once I get my P back from the repair man I'm very tempted to go back to flats, there's just something about a P with flats, a synergy if you will ;-)
10. Your right arm (assuming you're right handed) won't thank you, the bridge is utter garbage, the pickup suround will drive you mad probably. Other than that they are wonderful, the 4003s is probably a bit easier to live with though. I love my 4003, I doubt I could do a full gig with it though.
11. That's all sorts of wrong. Ewe !
12. Speaking of which, there is a web site that sells lots of secondhand USA jazz (& p) necks Can anyone remember what it is ?
13. Great guy and trustworthy. Decent player also ;-) I hope the Jazz serves you well.
14.
Any tribute to JD deserves applause as far as I'm concerned - monster player.
Hear hear :-)
15. I bought a rather lovely AVRI Precision from Andy. I couldn't be happier with it or the transaction. Nice easy going chap to deal with
16. Just pissing about on my Ric at the moment and its way wider than my Jazz, much deeper neck as well. Works well for me. Surprising though, I got rid of a G&L as I found the neck too wide. We shall see I guess !
17. Yeah it's me lol ! I'm not sure how I missed it on here. I have some concerns about the width of the nut, but the only way to be sure is to try it really. I didn't realise the AVRI was a wider nut than a standard P. My Ric has a neck the size of a baseball bat so I suspect I'll be ok ;-)
18. 70s Queen, in the very early 80s I've had an obsession with 3tsb Precisions ever since. Then Black Sabbath and early Metallica. I miss those days
19. What's the nut width please ? ;-)
20. Can anyone recommend a courier that will insure for over £1000 for both loss and damage please ?
