1.
Anyway I'm not working today or tomorrow so will have to leave it with you to buy it from who every you feel has given you the best advice/ service etc
£50 off something £1299 isn't much (4%) - i'd be quite insulted if that was their best offer and i'd been going for years. Perhaps because you're such a good customer they're taking that for granted ? I'd go for the clearance one myself - there's just too big a price difference in this instance (for which I don't blame the higher priced shop).
2.
(And I will apologise profusely if moderators come a-knocking - my fault for typing before thinking!)
Best thing to do. They're some seriously over zealous power mongers.
3. Hard to tell from the pic - but it looks like just a crack in the lacquer which is only a cosmetic issue. Can't be sure - but it's not a typical place for a wood crack to form. p.s. watch out for moderators - they might tell you off for posting it in 2 places
4. I'm not too bad at 'demo slap' but tried this the other night and could not for the life of me get the left hand mute bit working - I just ended up fretting a note. More practise required .
5. My Dad has one of the Squiers you're talking about (even if it's a Strat). The neck is absolutely amazing - not anywhere near normal Squier quality and I would indeed put it on par with an MIA, fretwork is outstanding. The hardware also looks MIA (stamped - not cast bridge saddles) but the pickups were average (now swapped out for Vintage Noiseless). The body is hard to determine - it's covered in paint ! I think his one is early 90s (91 from memory) - not sure if that matches the time period you are referring to. I think maybe Cort put these out to impress Fender and got told to tone it down a bit to avoid embarassing them. (It does now however have a Fender logo on it .
6.
ooo get ready to be told off
Please do not simply post a link to eBay items. If you want to advertise here please add pics and a description and offer users here a 'buy it now' price (do not invite offers). If you do not wish to do so then please PM me and I can remove your post. Thanks.
7. Fender for me too - i'm afraid. Have seen a few Foderas up close and yes they are nice - but they just don't have any vibe for me.
8. One of my favourite sounds: Neck pickup, passive. Coils in parallel (down towards floor), roll off the volume (very important !) and treble a bit... huge fat funky P bass tone. Rolling off the volume seems to make a huge difference to the sound of mine when in passive mode - makes it sound much more 'old school'.
9. Another vote from me for the L-2000. Their lack of popularity is quite astonishing really and I can only assume down to the fact they don't say 'Fender' on the headstock. The versatility is truely impressive and it's not hard to hone in on pretty close P/J/Stingray tones. Perhaps because they are so chameleonic it's hard to isolate it's basic tone ? I suppose it's good that they aren't as popular as Fenders - a hidden gem.
10. Not much to tell from the pic is there ? I'd expect this to be highly dubious and not a patch on a real one.
11. ezbass if you have to choose one go for the LBGS - it's 100% bass whereas this one is about 25%. But Overwater will be there, which is reason enough for me (plus it's a <10 min drive from my house). Bass Direct are also considering the option, their issue also being the closeness of the LBGS.
12. Anyone going ? http://www.ukguitarshows.co.uk/
13. Please add a value to give people an idea what to offer in trade .
14. Personally i'd rather have a few midrange instruments than one top end - thus my psychological limit is £750. I think you can get (almost) any sound for that price so anything above that for me - is ostentatious.
15. Bargain alert !
16. That Fiesta Red one is absolutely stunning. My evil side wants it to have a relic job and be advertised as a 1962 Dingwall... muhahahaha. Any soundclips of the P anywhere Wazoo ?
17.
London Bass Guitar Show?
Obviously!
18.
and up!!!!please don't make silly offers like the squire plus 150 pound or would you accept £700?
Did either of these ACTUALLY happen ?
19. D'Addario Chromes for me ! Love them.
20. With the cost of fuel and price of parking in London - it makes sense if we can all help each other. Anyone going to LBGS with spare seats that doesn't mind picking people up en route ?! Post here ! The day you are going, route taken and deviation from route ? e.g. going from Manchester to London on Sat 3rd March, dont mind 5 mile deviation from M6/M40 on the way there/back ! Also for anyone that can't get there themselves - post where you are and how far from the nearest route to London you are etc. I would expect people wishing to take advantange of this will offer to contribute to fuel/parking etc Of course I will add my interest in this - anyone passing Birmingham (1.5 mile from M6 J7) able to give a lift on the Sat ?!
21. Whoa, zombie thread revival !
22. Great lineup... need to order my ticket.
23. Are you sure it wasn't the preamp that was overloading ? Not sure if it has a light to tell you.
24. anisron - since this was put up for sale 7 months ago you might be better off messaging the seller to see if they still have it rather than hoping they'll check this thread .
