1. That's a great collection dougal. How do you decide which to play first ?
2. My Dad bought this a few months ago on a whim for £150 and after a few weeks he's realised it's of no use to him and also I wanted it a lot (and had been telling him so !). I had a 7 string Aria about 6 years ago that I regret selling so to get the chance to get this was superb. I like my nu-metal and Dream Theater so this will be perfect Peavey Predator Plus TR7 (from 2000):
3.
I chose the NT: http://basschat.co.uk/topic/18712-bc-rich-nt-warlock-5/ as my perfect bass
That's a cool review. That guy knows his stuff .
4. In which case the list is majorly off putting to anyone curious.
5. http://www.warwick.d...ck_Instr_UK.pdf Oh my. p.s. I found this pricelist within about 5 seconds of loading the Warwick homepage.
6. I think a lot of sellers on here are trying to raise some cash on gear they now feel overpriced but still valuable (notice how there's a lot of 'custom' basses for sale currently), but aren't willing to take a hit on the price in order to shift it. Buyers on the other hand are searching for a bargain and are put off by 'normal' prices. The law of supply and demand determines how much something is reasonably worth, but there is a difference between market value and perceived value in most cases. Personally i've really been put off 'boutique' instruments recently and feel they are rather an ostentatious extravagance.
7. Damn it, I still want one.
8. That's not a cheap bass. I recommend a professional repair. Should look OK once done as there's no lacquer over it to polish.
9. Alas a 4003 is on my 'will have one day list' but things like this aren't encouraging me that Rickenbacker are customer orientated and thus are undeserving of my money.
10. I know I want one but wouldn't pay the premium for the name. I actually like to pick guard addition too.
11. "Why havent you got a Precision?" And "The bass is a bit loud"
12. I've got chromes on my Yamaha 5 string and they're ace. Very expensive though as the flat wound B string is about £15 on its own so a set is about £45.
13. That's a beauty gareth, what year is it and how does it sound ?
14. I remember having an MC900 just like this 5 years ago. Got for £250 from PMT and their value has rocketed recently and I think deservedly.
15.
hmnnn machines, your out numbered dude
Check my location under my profile pic .
16. Ergh, this place is getting full of bloody Brummies.
17.
I hoped it was how are you getting on with it so far?
Great so far. I'm really surprised by how many sounds it produces for a passive bass. Need to lower the bridge pickup a bit but the screws next to it don't seem to do anything - they just come out, clues anyone ?! Only negative is the setup isn't perfect yet getting some buzzing from somewhere around the headstock I can't isolate so will have a look at that when I change the strings soon.
18. I have one of these and its my main bass - stupidly good value for money and flawless construction.
19. Nothing amusing about not getting a T-40 - it is very real.
20.
Hang on. Is this real?
Is what real ?!
21. Always liked the look of them but never tried one out, curiosity and a few YouTube vids later and GAS kicked in. Saw the one for sale on Manchester Bass Lounge website and just had to go for it. Drew drive down from Manc with it and we had a good natter too. From looking around the forums a lot of other people have had an NBD today too !
22. Just been playing with it . Bridge pickup humbucking on it's own is Stingray territory. I think the neck pickup is too close to the neck to do a decent Precision impression but works nicely. I think the strings it came with need changing but other than that I'm very happy .
23. i don't think it's that heavy actually - less than I expected anyway. The controls are certainly not intuitive but with so many sounds possible it's only of little inconvenience. What I really can't believe is how cheap they are, this was made in the US - glad the Fender snobs dislike them as it meant a bargain for me .
24. I think the Burgundy are the rarest ones.
25. This landed today in exchange for my Tanglewood Overwater Contemporary J5 thanks to Drew at Manchester Bass Lounge. It has the OHSC along with original owners manual. The smell that emanates from the case is simply amazing - old oak/musty smell but without the stink of old tobacco smoke. We shall spend the next few days getting acquainted .
