1.
It says "trade" so he doesn't need to put a price...Beautiful bass !
I may clarify those rules to say please put a trade value on. This should assist buyers and sellers by people only offering appropriately valued instruments to trade (to hopefully stop people offering their Squier Affinity P bass as a straight swap for someones Fodera) .
2. Yeah it ticks all the boxes for looks and the quality is right up there. Just not what im looking for tonally. Deep down i'm an all out rocker and this is far too refined for me .
3. Ah - important thing to note here. It was made by the luthier Ibanez before Hoshino Gakki took it over in 1929. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ibanez (quite an interesting history here).
4. Please note you must add a price to put this up for sale here.
5. He doesn't (see his signature !).
6. Hi folks. Had 2 of these basses (1st one had defective lacquer and replaced under warranty) so this bass is only 2 months old. Utterly spotless mint and as new condition - hasn't left the house. This 'Tanglewater' is from the 3rd batch released and has more refined features than the original runs. In particular a gloss fingerboard, string tree and overall it's a better feel than the original (factory set action lower). This bass has a very modern and 'hifi' feel to it and despite it's Jazz looks it won't sound like a Fender (which could be a key requirement for someone !). Everything flat gives a reasonable 'all usage' but focused tone which cuts through. Neck pickup soloed rounds it out to a subtler sound (the most 'classic' sounding) but bridge on it's own is outright rude and great for in your face funk. The reason for me putting this up is i'm finding i'm not really utilising it and find I prefer old school sounding instruments - so trades for Fenders/old school basses are entertained (but ask me about anything - I may bite !). £450 collection (these are £630 new now) from Birmingham or postage can be arranged at extra cost £20 inc packaging). 7.
A work around is to right click on the thread you want to read and 'Open in new tab'. That way you just close the tab down when finished and your back at the original page
This. I never navigate away from the main index - just open a few new tabs on topics I want to read and close them when done.
8. I've had a couple of pints but no more. And that was in a 2+ hour period before the first set so i'd be 'sober' before starting. Once we're playing I stick to soft drinks to keep hydrated and remember the songs (90% successful )
9.
I would also question why you deem it necessary to go to all this trouble. If it's just a vanity thing (and you may have other reasons - see below) then seriously, I wouldn't bother devaluing your bass in this way. While this might be the last bass you ever own, as your sig says you own three already then I would guess your GAS won't stop here and there will come a time when you want to sell it.
On the contrary - I think even if people know it's not a Fender they won't be put off that the Squier logo is missing ! I know for the same price i'd rather have something that says Fender.
10.
I don't know if anybody's suggested this already, but what about a limit on bump frequency?
We already contact anyone that goes a bit OTT with their bumping even if they delete their previous bumps.
11. I'd be very surprised if TW wouldn't help you out. Have you tried contacting them directly ? I would also expect OW to show an interest rather than simply defer you.
12. Yes but not at the same scale. It wont save money realistically as you'll also need the neck pocket deepened. You'd be better of selling and getting what you really want.
13.
Oh, and FWIW he's a thoroughly nice guy; he used to be one of the sales guys in A1 music when I used to go there. Perfectly humble too.
I chatted to Nigel a few weeks ago at the Brum Guitar Show and he was friendly and chatty - told me the story about how he sold his Overwater bass and bought it back years later.
14. Seems far too cheap. I hate to ask this - but are you sure it's not stolen etc ?
15. Just go to the My Settings page (click on your username at top right of page) then click on Manage Attachments, you can review and remove your attachments/pics there .
16. Had my ABM300 for 5 years now and still happy with it. Only thing its needed was a cheap repair to the valve circuit. Fantastic rock amp and im sure with the right cab it could do anything.
17.
So new users come and go, but at least people are coming and going and surely that's the sign of a healthy forum. I'd hate for this to become a clique instead of a community.
This is another key point. If it's just the same people buying/selling as regular it'll be the same gear circulating around all the time (this happened a lot when it was <1000 members).
18. I've played the T-Bird 4 pictured above at Brum Guitar show last week. Wish I heard it in a quieter setting but felt great.
19.
No moderator comment?
My opinion on this matter is that if a minimum post count were required, someone may not bother sticking around to put their item up for sale and never visit the forum again. This for me is a negative aspect as it will mean no-one will get the opportunity to buy it whether they're regular or not. I'd rather everyone got a chance for a bargain and 1 in 25 people hang around to contribute in the long term than we forced people to post before selling.
20. Must be - as this is a thread about giving people a lift.
21.
You can only see the eBay forum if you are logged in. Did you have to log in to make your post?
This.
22. Take a look at http://www.musicground.com/. The subtitle between the 2 Strats is 'The Supreme Courts of Rock & Roll'. Bet they didn't expect that to be so literal .
23. As long as youre keeping the MFD pickups then its not too much heresy !
24.
When I read the thread title, the little voice in my head sounded like Manuel from Fawlty Towers.
"Where have a the bongos gone ?!"
