1.
As far as I am concerned, better the devil you know, I don't have any other browsers and I am not about to downlad, Chrome, Safari, or others because the way I see it if I.E. works with all the other forums and website I use, why should I try something else I am not familiar with? The problem is here in-house within the new forum software.
I think you missed the point entirely, I was asking you to try it to see if it was the same, not stop using what you do now and swap over. If you don't want to help us to help you, then we are stuck aren't we ?
2.
No I am not using multiple browser and toggling the edit box has helped some, I guess. but no cigar yet.
Can you try another browser ? Without establishing if affects all we can't try and resolve it.
3. Regarding mobile phones - the forum is currently using the full site, not a mobile theme. This means your phone will have to load the website that was meant to run on a much faster desktop/laptop PC that would have had a faster connection too. Mobile phones are simply nowhere near as fast as their larger counterparts yet. To put it into perspective, my phone (Samsung Galaxy S) has a 1Ghz CPU and 0.5GB RAM (1 year old) , my works PC has a 2GHz CPU and 1GB RAM (and is 3 years old). once the mobile format is running it should be ok.
4. Specifically regarding input delays - does that occur on multiple browsers ? Try toggling the editing mode (button at top left of the edit box) and see if that makes any difference ? Isolating the problem is critical to being able to do something about it. EDIT: This post took less than 1 second to appear on my screen.
5.
Ped! I thought you said this is now running on a new server, and that now things would be fast as a fast thing on speed, but... it's still slow here, there's typing latency and everything. ???
Must be your PC ! Mine is far from being zippy (it's 5 years old) but there is no typing latency, at all.
6. Pentode, try clearing the browser cache on your phone.
7.
Shame, well unless theres a theme option to view as it was then you lost me on a regular basis
I find that somewhat self-defeating, but it is your prerogative. Try the default IP.Board theme at the bottom (Change theme).
8. The old design won't be coming back (ever), but we will be tweaking the new one to hopefully make it as practical as possible for all. FWIW i've included a screenshot as I see things to show the differences that can be present using a different browser, this can be down to local settings. Chrome: Firefox:
9.
Mine is still slow, especially scrolling up and down pages. Doesn't help that I'm impatient. I'm 65 and I haven't enough time left to wait around for slow websites
Once the page has loaded, the forum server has no influence over how fast your computer can 'move' the page around. Is it an old computer ?
10. A decent studio for a few hours would work for no more than 6 people, after that we're going to need a function room somewhere (cheap !).
11. Sent you both a test message.
12. gafbass, on my Android using 3G it's slow but useable, on WiFi it's a lot better though. The mobile format is being looked at so don't lose hope !
13. The problem we had last time was finding a suitable venue - anyone with ideas is welcome to put them forward ! I think we'll have plenty of interest .
14. I work for a bank that only upgraded from IE6 this year - lots of places still on it, mostly due to not wanting to develop their old applications for IE8. That said - I don't think moderm websites should have to support it, it puts a limit on certain things that can be included that rely on more current standards of browser.
15. I go through phases of one being a favourite and the others not getting much attention. At the moment the Overwater and L2000 get the most air time with the Thunderbird getting picked up more occasionally (once a week or so). My defretted Yamaha RBX has been out of commission for far too long (2 years or so !) due to a failed refinish (should be done again within 2 weeks), when that's put back together and rewired it'll be like having a new instrument !
16. I can see in the admin console it's an installable plugin so we'll look at getting it (re)enabled .

Yeah mine has gone too, looks like that isn't a field that was migrated .
18. Thanks for the info .
19.
Has anyone adjusted their truss rod yet? I need to slacken mine a little as the neck is perfectly straight and there's some slight string buzz (nothing that you don't get on any other bass and easily sorted out). I'm just not sure which way it needs to go to give it a slight bow.
Yes. But I can't remember which way I went ! I tightened the rod to lower the action, i think it was probably clockwise, usually is. I'm yet to play an Aspiration - would be interested to see how they compare with the Contemporary J (same pickups but different woods/EQ). For me, the CJ5 easily sits proud in the position of the Progress it replaced. I feel it lacks nothing in comparison in terms of sound or feel, more cosmetics and build quality (which for me, is not even near to being worth another £2400 on top of this).
20. Try this link ? http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?app=core&module=usercp That's probably the page you're looking for but I can't see any formatting options there, the help page might have been for the older version.
21. In that case, I can only assume the user/password entry forms are not recognised as such (as they seem to be an overlay form). Chrome is remembering mine OK when I try and log back in.
22. Agreed - I'm missing it too ! I think it should be feasible for the mobile version to be used when that's up and running.

Yes, Off-Topic posts don't count to your total except when viewing your profile.
24. It's a browser issue - it's failing to recognise the site is one it has details for and automatically enter them.
25. It appears in that case the user has set the font size to the smallest available out of choice so that is their decision ! Also the default font is possibly not dark enough which doesn't help, we'll have a look at it.
