1. I prefer 24 - i like the thought of my fretboard being 2 octave and symmetrical at the 12th.
2. I think he's very sure not enough people will place an order and then he can do a big "I told you so" about supply and demand.
3. Yeah - have been listening a few times and it does need some definition. I've got the original master files so should be able add that in no problem.
4. As each saddle has multiple parts, I took each one apart and did all around (even the bits you can't see) - just be careful with the intonation nuts underneath ! Very easy for them to get knocked about.
5. Sorry, if you want to advertise on this website you need to use the For Sale section, also - it will need a proper description as listed here: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?act=SR&f=19 so please don't just post links to your eBay lot. Thanks.
6. Well, it seems are webhosts are feeling generous ! All customers (of which Basschat is one) have just been given a 25% (that's 15GB for us) increase in disk space for free. This was only decided 3 days ago and has just filtered down to us (and should be active shortly). This doesn't mean all of the work done by people was pointless, a tidy out is always beneficial for everyone ! Thanks for all the effort so far, resizing images before uploads is still a good practice to follow though - it also means pages will load faster for people on lower bandwidth connections .
7. For anyone interested in this - if you do get it those bridge saddles can easily come up nice with a bit of brasso ! Look as good as new..
8. Recorded this morning... it's a tune i've been working on for a little while and wanted to record. The main loop is both pickups flat, the solo part is bridge pickup (both coils, treble cut) and the lower octave is neck pickup (bass boost). Very much Steve Lawson inspired... Overwater Progress > Zoom GX1N > SoundBlaster Live! > Audacity There's a few pops and crackles that my soundcard seemed to add whilst recording, but it isn't clipping at all (had to give all tracks at least a 6dB boost). 9. It does indeed seem to me some manufacturers are jumping on the bandwagon (ahem Warwick) to have an SC and the aesthetics of it seem to be the last consideration. I generally dislike them, but there's a couple I could live with: ACG Skelf: Wood & Tronics Chronos 5:
10. As long as it's not a Daisy Rock Flower it shouldn't matter too much. Black is preferable, but not a prerequisite. I was in a metal band (thrashy) and used both a Stingray (natural) and a Jazz (sunburst). To a degree - it's refreshing for it not to be a black bass in such a band, shows that the player doesn't put their image above what they want to play.
11. It's getting earlier very month ! Eventually we'll be getting the December edition in January. That said, at least i'll have something to read next week at lunchtime..
12. No that's fine for now - it will build up again over time but I expect it to take months to be an issue again .
13. Sure - since the original issue was reported we have collectively feed up 4.5GB of data (over 10% of attachment size) and at least 3000 files have been removed.
14. Great stuff Chris. I'm very interested in what the sub £300 Aspiration will be like as there's so much competition it'll be going up against. I would love to see the brand establish itself and go up against the more popular companies in that price bracket (Ibanez, Squier, Epiphone, Peavey etc).
15. Jeez, those Tradetang things are hideous. It's as if someone described on the phone what it should look like rather than sending a design draft.
16. I have modified your title as we do not allow 'BRAND NEW' equipment to be sold here as that would mean you are a shop.
17. Soliloquy - that is the first Jaydee i've seen and liked ! Nice rabbit/chicken too .
18. I had an audition a few months ago for a covers band. The feedback I got that was between me and the other bassist (who was after me), I was the better player and added to the songs well. But they chose him as he was 'ok' and does some backing vocals .
19. If it's out of sight then the security aspect shouldn't be any different to normal. However - as far as temperature and humidity goes, I'd do it in the summer where the temperature is constantly over 10C, but in winter with frosts ? Very dodgy, I could see damage occuring.
20. I'll be there again. Glad I took my earplugs last time - the only thing that saved me from the percussive tedium. I seem to spend too much time looking at stuff and not playing it when i'm there, need to change that.
21.
Youtube: Korn, Limp Bizkit, etc...any of that rubbish haha.
Fieldy played an Ibanez and Sam Rivers played a ....oh I get your point now...
22. Hard cases for gigs, soft for practice.
23. The Corvette $$ 5 I had was awesome, just the neck I couldn't live with. Warwick seem to be more concerned about their brand than credibility with musicians. The older stuff is marvellous and has a great vibe to it (I still want an old Thumb NT5) but to me, they're more concerned with <insert this years signature model> than their core product.
24. I think this may be the case - Warwick seem terribly unfashionable at the moment and the (new) prices have shot up too. I think a Corvette $$ 5 is £1300 (Thomann) and I remember them being £700 when they came out.
25.
KT? Did you mean KS?
Clearly . I will claim confusion with Ken Taylor (Sandberg), but not Ken Barlow.
