1. Hold the answer till tomorrow at least ! I'll give it a try tonight when I get home.
2. I nearly liked it until I saw the weird top horn plus the lower cutaway looks a bit extreme. Thomann has the price for the 4 string at £527, that means it's going to compete with Tanglewaters, Sterling by EBMM, G&L Tributes etc. Not sure if it'll be a big success based on the looks, but the tonal options should be pretty good.
3. Interesting, sounds a lot like the Overwater/Tanglewood team up. Are there any pics yet ?
4. Precision pickup is a split single coil near the neck, a Stingray has a humbucker near the bridge. i don't believe any amount of EQ wizardy can make either sound like the other.
5.
Anyway, it's a bit of a ridiculous statement for you to make... loads of people own Fenders... does that mean nobody can review a Fender?
It may not use the 'e' word but surely that's what it is irrelevant of any financial benefit to either party ? How many Fender users are on the Fender website ? http://www.gbguitars.co.uk/gb_demos.asp My point, is that the review is not what I consider impartial, I don't believe for one minute that Stuart pays full price for the instruments compared to if me or you ordered the same spec.

Yo..
ive heard good things about this forum
It's all lies.
7.
Who at BGM is endorsed? Hasn't Stu Clayton just got an endorsement from Zon.. and maybe TC? Not sure about any of the others?
I never said who it was . But to answer your question specifically have a look here. I assume the info is still current.
8.
You want John McCoy to come round and sit on you?
Ah yes, he was another one who had a cringeworthy advert. "My Vintage ICON bass is f***ing incredible. It feels so natural, like I've been playing it for years!"
9. The more interviews I see with Jeff Berlin the more I think he's an opinionated arrogant fool.
10. Yeah, the Warwick adverts in BGM are the same too, full of people I have never heard of. Does this make me want to buy a Warwick ?! To be honest, I find any endorsing advertising off putting, i'd rather just some nice pics of the gear and some details of why the manufacturers think it's good. The worst endorsing adverts i've ever seen are Vintage, terrible on so many levels ! Link here "Buy one. Borrow one. Steal one. Just get one. The V4 Bass is AWESOME!!"
11. I've got a dep gig soon and in comparison to what i've read here - it seems to pay reasonably well. It's a covers band (indie) and the music I have to play is mostly not to my taste and also quite boring (I'll still give it 100% regardless) but there are a few songs in there i'm looking forward to. Not sure if I could do a similar thing (music i'm not keen on) in the long term unless I knew it was worth my while on the money side of things. Even if the music was exactly what I wanted i'd still need to do more than break even.
12. Amusing to me was a BGM article where a bass was reviewed by one of the brands endorsing players. Unsurprisingly not a bad word was said against it, nor a declaration of authors links to the brand.
13. Why don't you send them an email ? http://overwaterbasses.com/contact-us/
14. Graphite necks have a different density and thus deadspots are not as prevalent as on wooden necked instruments. They probably do have them - just not at the frequencies you'll play on a bass.
15. Adding mass will move the deadspot rather than eliminating it. It's a pain..
16. Very nice ! Might get one myself, oh hang on...
17. It's fairly possible he expunged the flux capacitor array after it became corrupted by quantum level binary tribbles.
18. ISP likely to be irrelevant, I suspect it'll be a server load issue possibly related to quantity of Google spiders.
19. This has not been an issue for me. Can you detail any time periods that this occurs in particularly ? When you do get in, are there lots of people logged on (especially guests), visible at the bottom of the forum ?
20. Silly price ! I really fancy one of these and this price is annoying as i've just spent all my money .
21. Yeah it's the Carved Top which is different to the standard, link here: http://www.glguitars.com/instruments/Tribu...d_Top/index.asp
22. I've got 2 weeks to learn 25 songs for a dep gig, some of the tunes are easy simple enough to learn by ear but others are too busy and for simplicity i'm just going to get the tabs for them, all but a few are on UG which is pretty good.
23. I wanted a Bongo 6 HH a couple of months ago and now think it's a good job I didn't get one, i'd probably be moving it on by now. The usefulness of a blend is not something i'm convinced by as much as having coil options and position swithces for pickup combos (as per Stingray HH. G&Ls etc.).
24. I think it depends on who you ask. To bassists - probably not, but anyone else I expect they would consider 5 strings as unusual. At an audition I had a few months ago the singer was amazed you can get them with 5 strings ! I didn't bother telling him you can get 7+ plus .
25. I stand corrected ! I assumed the default body wood for most midrange+ production instruments was alder/ash, didn't expect poplar to be in any Musicman or Fender instruments. Got to say though - it sounds great so really it is a moot point.
