1. If your order confirmation says extra-long scale, send 'em back.
2. Have you read any of the thread....? :-)
3.
Just looked 3.0, 6.0 and 9.0 Shuttles are exactly the same so even the 3.0 can go to 38Hz, Lets stop the myth
I could have sworn I saw one of the Genz chaps mention this somewhere on TB, but I'm buggered if I can find it. The 12.0 goes down to 26Hz, so maybe that's where I'm getting confused. In any event, I'm happy to stand corrected.
4. Fret not! Although it's now a minijack.
5. Of course! I hope you're not in a hurry, though. My amp GAS is quashed for the first time in years and years...
6.
I wonder if this is the case whether the Streamliners are similarly tweaked.
The Streamliner 600 & 900 are comparable to the 9.0.
7. I've used the TC & Compact for a number of gigs, and it sounded nice. But... The Compact is a tight, punchy cab, and as you know has no tweeter. The TC is designed to emulate a sealed cab, with a low-pass filter and (IME) a very middy inherent tone. The Streamliner has a lot more going on in the lows and highs, and I think it would be a better match for the Compact.
8. I have a feeling the Streamliner (or Shuttle) would be a better match for the Compact than an RH450.
9. I have nothing to add other than: OP's username + thread title = even more hilarity
10.
What's ridiculous is the idea that he would scrap the products just because he can't get hold of the old tweeters. There's clearly more to it than that. What would he do if all of his products used that tweeter - scrap his whole product range?
No.. he'd research and source alternatives. Back to reality, the sales levels of the cabs concerned don't warrant it. Although I suppose he might be reconsidering now the AE line has been pulled.
11.
If you read that statement carefully, you'll see that he doesn't disagree with me at all.
...but it doesn't seem to be worth his while. Hence it's not 'ridiculous'.
12. Shamelessly C&P'd from TB... I've emboldened the important bit.
...a tough pill to swallow and not of my choosing. After NAMM, my local B&C sales rep along with the president of B&C stopped by my office for a visit. They informed me that the tweeter they’ve been making for me since the inception of the original HT112 back in 2001, when Bergantino Audio first started, will no longer be available. I completely understand their decision as I was the only one in the world they were still making this tweeter for over the last several years. As many HT112 owners know, the tweeter plays a big role in the character of that cabinet. I’m sure there are other tweeters out there that can fill the role, but for now I’ve decided to let it go and see how it plays out. If demand persists, I can and will research a new tweeter for this product and bring it back to market. As for the HS cabs, it really comes down to numbers. They have certainly been selling, but not at the volume of the AE’s.
13.
Part of the sonic signature of the HT cabinets was the B&C tweeter. B&C discontinued it. Doesn't seem to unreasonable to me.
^^^ what him said. I'm sure if Jim could source a similar tweeter without compromising performance, he would have done so.
14. Hasn't Jim just scrapped the ceramic range? Does that mean he's selling nowt now?
15.
Well I'll no longer by getting my Overwater Aspiration Artist bass. I paid for it in full last Wednesday and, although I'd been told it had been shipped, it's still sitting in the shop. Couldn't be bothered with all the hassle and delay this was causing so asked for a refund. I'm disappointed but I now have nearly £600 to spend on a bass again. This bad order has put me off Overwaters (too much heartache with this failed order) so am thinking of looking at second hand basses from here instead. Take care guys. B
Sorry to hear it. Were Overwater at fault?
16. User #110 of Bassworld... The thing is, I can barely remember it!
17. *ding ding* Next stop, Memory Lane....
18.
Cheers, I'm sold. I see that Nevada music are advertising them for £569 an din stock. Damn, i could have one before the next gig (if the website is accurate)
Have a word with Mark at Bass Direct... you never know, he might be able to match it. Mind you, I didn't think the 600 had hit these shores yet...?
19. Just had a listen here, and like virtually all JC's stuff, it's R5 all the way.
20. One of the best cabs I ever had was a wide-but shallow front ported 18" with a Gauss driver. Glorious....
21. Have you noticed that you can hear this kind of bass in the car, too?
22. I've noticed people are buying later, or are waiting to buy on the door. It's quite nerve-wracking...
23. +1! It's a very select club, but new members are always welcome.
