Based on some of the above comments, I can only assume that a lot of you haven't seen or used a decent gigbag? I'm not talking about cheap "business generators", I'm talking about something that costs as much as, if not more than, a good hard case. I used to use a couple of these:
Very nice (and pricey) high-quality hard case / soft case halfway-house. After a near miss involving a sliding flight case, I shifted to the Hiscoxes.
I know semi-hard cases have their place, but they're not for me. Each to their own, as you say!
