1.
Geester was last online 12 minutes before this thread was posted. It's now got 34 posts basically damning him before he's even offered a comment. That's not fair. How many will there before he replies, I wonder?
..and if he makes a good point, everyone criticising him will look silly. Brushing it all under the carpet helps no-one.
 2. It's not like it's one-sided. Both parties have a right of reply.
 3. Wow.. someone is going to come out of this looking really bad. Shall we draw straws?
 4.
Every **** throwing their 10p in on what they should have done.
Fellow Basschatters, you mean? What do the ****'s stand for?
 5.
I don't mind the parties posting but I'm not sure how relevant anyone else's comments are.
This. Deals gone bad should be public knowledge.
 6.
Them's was the rules, NR gets the £100! (well actually a bit more as I'll Gift Aid it)
Yay! Thanks for all your hard work.
 7.
I think the OP is getting it back (at some expense as he has to pay shipping for the two basses) and was hoping that BD would at least refund him on the '83. That was the gist of the other thread AFAIR.
Ah, I didn't see the other thread. But still, the situation isn't as straightforward (and therefore clear-cut) as suggested in the OP. It's not like he's bought the bass, got it home and realised within a week or so that it's not what he thought it was. Again... will someone lock this thread so I can go to bed? Please?
 8.
Although the OP has offered to refund the overseas seller, Mark hasn't offered to do the same.
I don't think Mark should refund the overseas buyer. It wasn't his bass at the time it was traded.
 9. I reckon this should be locked again, as we're not in possession of the true facts.
 10.
As I understand it, the guy has bought a bass that he believes not to be genuine but has since traded it on to someone across the other side of Europe
Really? Then IMO it changes things significantly...
 11.
If the buyer is unhappy then there are proper channels to go through. This isn't one of them.
I disagree. Speaking generally here, not specifically about the matter in hand... If someone has an issue with a bass-related vendor, should approach the vendor and try and sort it out behind closed doors. If that fails, and they have good grounds for complaint, post it for the world to see. It's fair game. How a problem is sorted out is more of a customer service yardstick than how a sale goes. For what it's worth, I've got a lot of time for Mark, and I've bought quite a bit of stuff from him in the past. Nice guy, never had a problem.
 12. As the saying goes: Don't count your chickens until the fat lady comes home to roost.
 13. Well, Nordoff-Robbins would be my first choice, but I'd rather it wasn't my choice
 14. Yum! And... Meh. Not my thing.
 15.
I'm still a bit hacked off that a couple of people decided they would not pay despite a number of hints from myself during the event, so I won't be organising the next one and there is room on the organising Committee( note from self to self: we had a Committee?) for some fresh blood and ideas!
What? Shocking. PM them and threaten 'em with name-and-shame!
 16. The g-string bridge screw would be longer than the others in 70-72, as well.
 17.
looks interesting! how do you get on with yours? How does it stand up to mid size gigs (200-500 people)? Cheers
1. It is. 2. Adore it - best amp I've owned in living memory... does clean and tubey very, very well. And the thump... oooooh. 3. At 900w I imagine it'll be fine, but you're looking at PA support for that sort of thing...

 19. Here's something else to throw into the mix...
 20. This bass is beautiful, and it has a neck to die for.
 21. Some friends of mine have a couple of songs in there too, but thankfully they don't clash with your group... good luck!
 22.
More video of the new head >> http://www.musicradar.com/news/guitars/mus...deo-demo-420035 Eude
Just had a watch of this... the opening salvo? You can change the front panel! Also, to paraphrase part of it: 'This has a warmth that isn't really familiar to other class D amps.... amplifiers like this normally have one trick.... we've tried to make this more versatile than others...' They've got their heads in the sand.
 23.
Wow. Had my first gig with the Streamliner last night. This thing is fantastic. So much thump
It's a beautiful thing, isn't it?
 24.
+1 Bad form indeed - especially when, presumably, they expect you re-assemble the repaired parts as well. Ludicrous. Imagine a car company that required you to remove a faulty engine and return it to the manufacturer for them to fix under warranty and then you have to re-install it in your car. We'd laugh them out of the showroom for taking the p*ss.
I refer you to Clarky's previous post:
Probably not [under warranty] (its the older IIa series) - Beedster got it off eBay and I bought it off him so would be difficult to track down history. That said AI have indicated they will repair for free
Pretty good form, if you ask me.
