The SL900 has PHAT and 3DPM going on - I don't know whether that's anything to do with it. Wondering how loud either the SL900 or RH750 will go is fruitless, IMO. They're loud. If you run out of steam, you need to buy a PA.

The 1x10 combo is - IME - loud enough for acoustic gigs, or gigs with a controlled drummer (do they exist?). The head with a bigger cab is more than capable of handling any gig. Great combos...

Hmm... I'm not a fan of neck-buckers. They're not really 'middy' things to my ears.

The volume knobs might be tapered differently. The earlier amp's knob might be front-loaded, so most of the volume change might happed on the first quarter-turn, while the LH500 might be more spread over the full range. Just one possibility.
