1.
There are a lot of people who swear by the BDDI, and a lot who say it's the worst thing since sliced sh*t (they get all emotional about their mids.)
ha ha.. I'm one of the latter.
 2. All you people complaining about the MEN are lucky, really. You should come and see a band at the Newcastle Arena. 'See' being the crucial term, as all you'll hear is a rotten mush which might just as well be two hundred wild boars fornicating in an oversized Roses tin.
 3. I'm desperately trying to fight it, but I fancy a PJ. Ideally this: But I quite like the idea of a custom build... That said, I have no money so unless I sell something it's a moot point.
 4. Just watched this week's... I'm warming to the Unthanks slightly. Couldn't believe there was some fella on there doing a solo thing with a looper pedal, though. Is it still 2006?
 5. I like Jools. Here's my favourite (non-later) Jools moment.
 6. Nah... the tickets are just the wrong side of 'too expensive' for my pals & I. With heavy hearts, we're giving it a miss.
 7.
lets hope this is the end of it for Gareth, its about time he had some good luck and im really looking forward to suing mine at its first gig on Sat.
Relax - mine's done loads, and it's fine.
 8.
Sorry, that was a typo, im meant to write Ken Jung, not Gareth.
Best edit the post, then - we don't want to mislead anyone, do we? (btw, one of Ken's problems was a dodgy valve, which could have broke during shipping. Just sayin'.)
 9.
Well so far Gareth has had two dud amps from Genz, both with "Passed QC" tags on them. Is that the rep you mean ;-) Only joking (sort of).
Just out of interest, what was the other dud Genz amp Gareth had?
 10.
Mine is due tomorrow. I upgraded simply for the tweetertone and just having the latest one! Sad, isnt it!
How are you getting on with it? You mentioned on TB that you were having problems with it..?
 11.
Do you work for Ashdown ;-)
ha ha No.
 12.
Well so far Gareth has had two dud amps from Genz, both with "Passed QC" tags on them. Is that the rep you mean ;-) Only joking (sort of).
Crap happens. It's how it's resolved that counts.
 13.
Great new Gareth, although i would say great service from Fender rather than Genz in this case.
Nice to see Fender upholding Genz' reputation, I think.
 14.
I think I understand now. Just opens the taps on the high, but useless if your cab doesn't do anything higher than say 3k? Would have been better calling it hi-fi-tone or modern-tone, but then that doesn't begin with T.
I think the logic is that it lets you dial down the tweeter (if you have one) to emulate a vintage cab.
 15. I'd try another location as well, just in case it's a local issue.
 16.
Welcome to the forum buddy! We are hitting the road with our Genesis Tribute next Saturday for a gig near you @ the Blyth & Tyne. All the best J.
Ar, man.. could have fancied that but I've got a gig. Eeeeh... the Blyth and Tyne...! ..and welcome aboard, Barry!
 17.
Another forum I use has this mobile theme installed http://www.aqua-soft.org/forum/index.php?app=portal Would the admins be interested in installing it if I paid the $20 for it?
I think the forum is about to be upgraded to a new platform... It might be an idea to hang on until after that.
 18. I literally couldn't do a gig if I wasn't into the music, and I've turned paid work down because of it. That said, every man has his price....
 19.
The bag is appalling, just a warning.
+1. It's nearly great, but it's also flawed to the point of being useless. I'm going to get a 'drop on' cover made like the Walkabout Scout.
 20. I'm sitting in front of mine now. The IEC cable is solid if you try and rock it side-to-side, but it does rock up and down a little (I emphasise it's the cable, *not* the plug). It doesn't cause the amp to go off. Incidentally, certain cables cause my Promethean to go off if sometimes if I nudge it. A high-quality IEC solved it. Is the socket actually shifting, or just the plug? Have you tried a chunkier mains cable?
 21. Mrs. WoT & I are in a trio which has a country edge.. here's one of the tunes.
 22.
Question for 600/900 owners.... Is it possible to get some natural tube compression but still retain a clear tone? I use to own a Warwick Quad which did that nicely.
I'd say yes...
 23. Depending on the room, I tend to roll the low of to about 10/11 o'clock, and give the low mid a hefty nudge.
WoT. I noticed you had the gain button engaged in your videos. Do you find this makes much difference to the tone? I know it will boost the input and i expect ill use it all the time but im just wondering if you use it because it boosts the input or if its to get a bit more dirt out of the amp.
Dave - my basses are passive, so I usually engage the gain button to compensate. It'll still run clean with the button in, but it does feel livelier.
 24. Yep... Sounds like it could be something in the mains circuit. Fridge or summat?
