Thank you.
They're both amazing heads. I'm still in love with the R-400 after years of ownership - but there's no denying the WB is the only head that could tear me away from it. They both have broadly the same pre's, but that 120w-worth of valves really does slam.
You're best getting in touch with Leszek at [email protected], or keep an eye out for something used.
Whichever you go for, you won't be disappointed.
Warwickhunt made good on a long-standing promise and offered this to me before putting it up here. Unfortunately I don’t have the means at the moment, otherwise… you know. FWIW I’ve gigged it recently and it remains a holy grail head for me. The effortless detail and dynamics it puts out are astonishing.
I guess you could get into the minutiae of it, but - in my opinion - it's not live. It's been done already, and it's being played back.
Not that Ed cares what I think, mind.
FWIW, lovely as the oval ultralites are, they’d look a bit odd on a Limelight (IMO).
Resolites are equally lovely, and look authentic (but aren’t oval, obv.)
The may well be lovely basses (haven't played on yet) but do they still use captive gerbils to nibble at the edge of the bodies? That always put me off a bit.
Speaking from experience, the producers will constantly be on the lookout for even the slightest thread of an angle, a story to tell… even if it only becomes a ‘thing’ in the edit suite.
St . Paddy's gig at one of Newcastle's most beautiful bars. Here's some singalong bits.
Absolutely heaving, and a great afternoon. On the down side, it'll be a miracle if we don't all get covid.
