  1. Maybe he was just caught short one day? Happens to the best of us.
  2. Blocks, though..? *sharp intake of breath*
  3. The mids are where the party’s at.
  4. They're great, aren't they? He even manages to get Tony Banks to relax a bit.
  5. Short answer: no. Longer answer: I guess they could as a custom order, but the only one I've ever seen is in the Fender Bass Book.
  6. In my experience basses haven't been as volatile.
  7. I don’t think it’s a bubble - it’s been a steady rise at least for the last couple of decades while I’ve been involved.
  8. @ossyrocks - step away from the long adjustment screw. It's 100% original.. that's how they were 🙂
  9. What an absolute smasher. Nice one!
  10. Are you feeling a little sensitive at the moment?
  11. Just started getting into this Trogly chap's channel. It's mostly guit*r, but he does the occasional bass thing, especially the MIJ oddities. Check it out: And, while where at it, here's his take on the Katana.
  12. I'm glad I can turn up to gigs with a fairly lightweight amp and cab that I like the sound of, and not have to think about any of this stuff 😄
  13. I like that. A lot.
  14. When I went fretless, I didn't think about it too much. I just picked it up and played it.* *Important note: I'm not trying to cop Jaco parts or owt like that. Had that been the case, I suspect the transition would have been less successful.
  15. She works at The Sage.
  16. Pretty much. I've got 5 unopened sets of LaBellas and GHS Flats here, which I'll keep for my great-grandchildren.
  17. As a flats user of 20 years or so, the chat has been pretty steady for the last decade, I reckon.
  18. Doesn't bother me at all.
  19. Curious to know... who established the 'Good technique' rules that we should try and adhere to?
  20. I hate it when people say that. ‘Cos I didn’t 😞
  21. Is that a generalisation based on a single bass? I’ve played some pre-CBS dogs, and own(ed) some CBS beauties. There are dogs and diamonds in every era.
  22. My hit rate with 70s Fenders has been similar to yours - in turn, comparable to any other era.
  23. Always makes me smile when people tar 70s Fenders with one big crappy brush, as if something deeply disturbing happened at the Fender plant on the stroke of midnight on Dec 31, 1969. Still, I guess it helps keep the prices down a little 😄
