  1. Of course, but I suspect Mr. Mason isn't a man who likes to create choppy waters (sic).
  2. I'm guessing (and glad) Mr. Gilmour gave them his blessing to do Echoes, 'cos I know he decided to retire it after Rick's passing out of respect. I didn't think I'd hear any of the band do it ever again. So tempted to get tickets for Newcastle...
  3. A little bit of flat fun with my '71 and La Bella 760FL's. Love that bass and those strings.
  4. What is.... 'Legit music'?
  5. I’ve spent most of my career with - in the main - great musicians who don’t necessarily read, but know what sounds good. Maybe I’m just lucky?
  6. Let me know if it was, @Ricky Rioli…
  7. It is, and it was. If anyone wants to know about it, let me know.
  8. My old one. https://youtu.be/rsTP543lpqQ
  9. Meh.. not for me. I'm sure he'll do well with it, tho.
  10. I'm not totally up on the current situation, but I know Covid hit HB like many others. Thankfully amps are only part of the business so they were able to weather the storm.
  11. This thread has got the lot. 10/10.
  12. Tell ya what, if I wasn't miles away from Dorset I'd be checking this one out. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/265640537328?hash=item3dd968ecf0:g:VNEAAOSwbK5iVVgS
  13. In my experience yes, but they’ve had problems in the past with not-junk ending up in their junk mail. If you’re on FB, that might be a quicker route. I’ll message Leszek now and ask him to keep an eye out.
  14. We have a definitive answer, ladies and gentlemen: "Respecting"
  15. I've asked Terry. Bear with...
  16. Ah, I understand. I had a similar thing with the Mesa Wakabout. I loved that head but it always seemed like there was too much it too little of a particular frequency, and it was a PITA trying to get to the bottom of it. The HB sounds so natural from the start.
  17. I leave mine flat 99.9% of the time. Sometimes I’ll hit the bright switch if the song needs it. Never sounds anything else than glorious (IMO). I think I’m blessed with basses and a cab that sounds just how I want them to.
  18. I think the HandBox preamp (pretty much the same in the R and WB) is a beautiful thing in its simplicity. There’s no baked-in EQ, which I think is fairly unique. This works well for me ‘cos for my tone, the mids are super-important, and I don’t want to faff about putting them back in.
  19. I can vouch for the volume of the WB-100. It’s bloody loud. I’ve done deafening pub gigs with one, without PA support. It sounds nicer the more you turn it up.
  20. You’re welcome.
  21. Thank you. They're both amazing heads. I'm still in love with the R-400 after years of ownership - but there's no denying the WB is the only head that could tear me away from it. They both have broadly the same pre's, but that 120w-worth of valves really does slam. You're best getting in touch with Leszek at [email protected], or keep an eye out for something used. Whichever you go for, you won't be disappointed.
