1.
I seem to recall molan (of this parish) remarking that the TH500 used the same Class D power stage as the allegedly 900W Streamliner!
The modules in pretty much all these amps are much of a muchness, just with tweaks here and there. I realised I didn't like the core behaviour, so I bailed on them a while ago.
 2. Is there a possibility that he's just not cut out for this music lark?
 3. More flats fun! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ObRuRxFNxGY
 4. Me too. It's a terrible name, though. It reminds me the autobiography of that hairy beardy bloke.
 5. 'Tis indeed a B...
 6. Bravewood charge a fortune for body relic'ing like that.
 7. Rounds back on again... it's a beaut :-) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=STr8CN1ExzE
 8. Amazed that didn't go, TBH.
 9.
Yes, lightweight tuners. Interesting observation about the bridge, Si. Anyone else had this issue?
. Hipshot B bridges on mine. Well worth the premium.
 10.
It went this afternoon.
Oh really...? *raises eyebrow*
 11. TbH, it's Gumtree, so it's aimed at local buyers. If i were local, I'd be banging on his door, ropy pics or no.
 12.
Word to the wise: You might want to consider skipping "I think I'm going bald"
Funnily enough, the last time I listened to that I probably had hair.
 13.
The remix of Vapour Trails is so much better than the original. I used to really dislike that album, but the remixed version revealed the quality in a lot of those songs. Well worth a few quid on Amazon if you don't have it. http://www.amazon.c...h+vapour+trails Now I just wish they'd to the same with Snakes and Arrows and (particularly) Clockwork Angels...
Yep - the VT remix is a million times better. I don't get the adulation for Clockwork Angels. There's a few good tunes on it, but the arrangements are generic RAWK, and the production is lifeless. Where are the great performances? The real standout instrumental breaks? Maybe they're buried under the kitchen sink, but I don't hear any. IMO Rush's best tunes were written and refined when they were working as a band, not when they're - literally - being conducted by the producer. Rant over :-)
 14.
No. I'm a bigger fan.
Drat. That didn't work. But the writing is SO HUGE our tiny human minds can't comprehend it.
 15.
Maybe, but I'm a bigger fan than you...
No. I'm a bigger fan.
 16.
I struggle (relatively) with anything after Test for Echo as (for me) they lost their subtlety and variation. Still, my least favourite Rush album (whichever it happens to be at the time, currently Clockwork Angels) is still a great album
That pretty much sums it up for me. The songs, arrangements and production get weaker, and Neil's lyrics start to suck a bit. (And I'm a MASSIVE fan.)
 17. Got to be worth a look if you're in the area...
 18.
Cheers. Never tried them but if I can get close to your sound there I'll be made.
Mind, that's all backline, so don't discount the influence of the amp & cab :-)
 19.
What strings were you using on The Chain in that gig video WoT?
I'm pretty sure they're D'Addario NYXLs...
 20.
They've really nailed the online configurator, the best of any manufacturer / luthier. I've got one on it's way and can't help speccing another.. Be interesting to know how many hits it gets, and what % make it through to orders..
Well, the build time seems to have rocketed since it went live.. :-D
 21.
Just wondering if anyone else remembers a Beatles studio recording of 'I saw her standing there' where Paul McCartney stops the song early on, because he hasn't got a pick and can't quite play it. I thought it was on The Anthology, but I can't find the version anywhere. Thanks.
Are you not thinking of 'One after 909' off the Anthology..?
 22.
Lovely sunburst on the "new" one. Your '71 had faded to pretty much 2T hadn't it? That is a strong, deep 3T. Sounds Ok too... You need to get your sig updated mind...
Yep - mine had no red on the front, apart from a bit under where the ashtray sat. And... whoops. You're right :-)
 23. I'm actually - SHOCK HORROR - considering getting it refinned Oly, but if not I'd be happy leaving it as-is.
 24. A bit'o'flatwound noodling today... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PBLILhJMRKs
 25.
Handbox looks interesting - I know you don't have an endorsement deal WoT but they really should offer you one .
Ha. I'm just a giddy fan :-) (and a Geddy fan, but that's another thread)
