    I’m feeling the urge to fill the P shaped void in my armoury. I’m probably going to be looking out for an American Std 2012-2016 as I’m a big fan of that model. However, my absolute top choice colour combo would be natural body with a rosewood board. Question is, were they even available in that combination?

    Not sure about TC or GK but a TecAmp (or Eich) Puma would fit the bill. Great amps and very handy for silent practice. …….. and available as 300, 500 or 900 watt.

    Tbh I’ve never wanted/seen/had the need to connect more than 2 cabs to a head. Ideally a one cab solution every time for me (2 absolute tops) so if this is 4 ohms that suits me fine.

    Well everyday’s a school day. I stand corrected* (*enter Alan Partridge punchline here). EDIT - As stated above, the SB1000 was indeed available as factory fretless so apologies for causing an unnecessary stinky poo storm. I'm just off to self- flagellate...... ☹️

    Very nice. I’m a huge fan of Aria basses of this era. I’m not entirely sure any of the SBs were fretless when they left the factory though, although I’m sure other more learned members on here will correct me if that’s not the case. GLWTS EDIT - Turns out it must be the SB-R series I was thinking of as the SB1000 was indeed available as factory fretless. My bad and apologies for derailing the thread. 🤐

    @Downunderwonder may have hit the button re the cabs you’re using. If you were to use a/a couple of modern, Uber efficient cabs I think you may find that you have plenty of oomph. I used to use my 250 SMX regularly with, initially a Barefaced Super 12 then a Super Twin. I couldn’t imagine ever needing more headroom.

    I know I’m very biased, but if you love your SMX I’d suggest getting your hands on an AH400 version. Cheap as chips and you’ll never run out of headroom, although I’m quite surprised you’re running out now tbh.
