  1. Just out of interest, what changed with the 2nd gens, other than the shape? I had a beautiful Surf Green MkI with the Delano pickups, but hand positioning wise it felt awkward with the tight space between the reverse p and the MM. A minor issue I know, but one which bugged me.
  2. And here was I, born and bred at the red end of the A52 just about managing to refrain from making any comments about sheep and our East Midland neighbours. 🤣 Edit - to the op, cracking buy. I remember using a stock Encore P for many gigs in the 90’s. I would highly recommend a Kiogon loom and a CS ‘62 pickup though. Great combination.
  3. I’ve been using RST for several years, again for Fender strings that many places don’t seem to stock. Good prices and prompt delivery.
  4. Great cabs these https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Barefaced-cab-15-neodymium-bass-cab-/274621366862?_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49292
  5. Is anyone else dressing their stands in tinsel or sprinkling reindeer dust on their SVTs? Here’s Santa and one of his............. I’ll get my coat 🤪
  6. I bought an amp bag from them a couple of years back. Was a little nervy but the price and delivery was all good.
  7. Yeah thanks for the offer but I believe they are different. That and the fact that if I tried to ‘adjust’ it, it truly would look like it’s been butchered - but with a fork!
  8. Ooh I like the look of that. I contacted WD Music but they don’t do one for the Special HH yet. I’d have to send them a template. 🙄
  9. I thought it was the stepson of Mr Gilmour who ......... EDIT - no, my mistake. As you were Anyway, well done Bryan!
  10. Kevin Spacey taught me all I know....... 😳 Too soon???
  11. Hi Andy Once I’ve put postage on I’m sure you’d be able to buy one cheaper on eBay. That’s why this is shipping to GB only Thanks
  12. I sent a head via UPS the other day without issue. In fact, it arrived at it's destination sooner than they (Interparcel) estimated it would.
  13. Another one for ‘Stop the Cavalry’ here. Always been a favourite since I was a kid. For the bass line, it’s got to be ‘The Waitresses’
  14. I could buy it and send it to you, on the understanding that you don’t charge me extra for it when I buy your Pelham Blue JC off you 🤣
  15. Ah, might be a bit of an issue then. I’m sure a local old school luthier would be able to sort it. Hofners of this era are notorious for the necks and bodies parting company at some stage during their lives. All down to the animal based glue they used apparently.
  16. Sold an amp to Tony. Super fast payment and great communication throughout. Absolute top fella. Enjoy! 👍
  17. Very nice. I had one of these many years ago but it was a little more battered! I’m not sure where you’re based but this guy did some work for Hofner when they took to remaking ‘as per’ the originals a few years ago (he’s even credited in the History of Hofner book). http://www.stuartsguitarworks.com/aboutstuart.htm There’s still a big demand for these from German collectors, I sold my ‘59 Club 60 to a guy over there last year.
  18. Cheers @Reggaebass. I’m thinking of treating it to a Matt scratch plate. I am a big fan of them. Far more robust than the standard shiny finish.
  19. I have the 4HH Special and had the 4H version, with a brief overlap where I had them both. To my ears the HH sounded no different to the H when set to the bridge pickup, which was a relief as I didn’t want to sacrifice that sound, just add to it with the other options the HH gives you. Gratuitous pic alert:
  20. No way! Spent many a happy hour there in my younger days. Although I did have a not so happy encounter once when I went in years later and some of the 'long hair brigade' thought that anyone with short hair was trespassing and should be offered outside. Very sad news though.
  21. Now sold. Thanks for the (lots of) interest.
