1. Nuvver bump. Thought this would fly away. I'll keep it if it doesn't sell on this bump.
2. An accurate weight would help no end to us oldies with bad backs
3. FD the mods were easy and not expensive, give Kiogon a shout. Neck is more P than jazz.
4. Nice low action, great sound and 'that maple neck'
5. Bump for a terrific bass!
6. Where was it made? Czech or USA?
7. Thanks BG, Hitchy, thanks for the offer but I'm good for amps now.
8. Just bought a bag from Gary, great comms, friendly guy and the bag was better than described. One of basschat's best trading members. Thanks again. Tom.
9. Hiya, what's the width at the body end please?
10. Thanks Paul, you are a gent
11. Hiya gang, I have spent a lot of time and money making this out of control, loud, yobbish bass into something quite sublime and very good easy to play bass. When I got it new the volume and preamp were uncontrollable and I was told that a common mod was to fit the Stinger preamp which I ordered. However it was soldered together badly and wires kept falling off so I gave up on that. Sooo... I had a word with John KioGon on here and this is what he made for me: the sub wiring is MusicMan Passive, 2 volumes + tone, CTS Premium 250K Audio Log pots .047uF cap. with a "Jimmy Lloyd Rea signature 4 string MM bassbucker" from Warman. MM 4 string bass humbucker 13.2k 4 wire overwound pick up This has made a massive difference! It now has an excellent range of tones and some great thump too. All very easy to control now. I will also include the Stinger and the old pickup, wiring etc' Sadly I have now bought two lightweight basses and this is redundant, it's not heavy by normal standards at about 9lbs. Price is £225, with free postage in the UK./ pics This bass is a bargain.
12. I would like to say to anyone who may be put off by a ply body that I bought one and made a bitsa bass with a fender usa pup and the sound is fantastic! Couldn't believe it. Now I use it quite often. It even has my name on the headstock: 'Legend' Seriously though they can sound really good. Have a bump.
13. so what about the weight and the width of the nut?
14. Our John (Kiogon) made this for me: Your sub wiring is MusicMan Passive, 2 volumes + tone, CTS Premium 250K Audio Log pots .047uF cap. with a "Jimmy Lloyd Rea signature 4 string MM bassbucker" from Warman. MM 4 string bass humbucker 13.2k 4 wire overwound pick up It now sounds absolutely great now. I'll have to sell it though as it's too heavy these days.
That looks t'riffic! Well done. Any particular reason why you wanted to change out the P-pup? Much as I love my P-Lyte, I've always felt the pick-ups let it down ever so slightly.
Hi Simon, I don't use the j pickup so there was no point changing it. The P pickup as you say, is lacking, it just felt very thin to me and the SPB-1 provides some real kickass thump. I now have the best of all worlds, light as anything, some real poke and tone and killer looks. /sorted! Only trouble is I'd like a spare one, you know, just in case........

Thanks, the credit goes to Jon Shuker, he is a genius and in future if I see a bass I really like with a rosewood board I can now buy it and have it converted!
17. That looks very cool Ash
18. Lovely bass, if it was lighter I'd have had it.
19.
I believe that is French for PM, which for the Guisborough amongst us, is private message. At that price, few words are needed. Are you needing Hattie again Tom
It's getting near that time
20.
Mp
A woman of few words, nothing understandable.

Thanks for the positive feedback guys, I have to admit that I opened the case and just looked at it for a few minutes. Jon did roll the edges and it sports a bone nut too. It looked very dull with the rosewood but it looks amazing with maple. Such an easy neck to get around too.
