Me too. I'm personally a bit baffled that people spend £100+ on leather ones when these are a fraction of the price and miles more comfortable / practical (for me at least)

I'll take one, thanks

I'm a contradiction, what can i say. Love BB, hate PJ.

That blue burst above is gorgeous. I'm inherently biased against PJ basses though. No idea why.

I'll take a photo of the straps when I get home. Remind me if i dont post! The TGI has a nice big front pocket which would fit sheet music well.

I bought a Precision from @Dov65 Absolutely great to deal with, delivered it to me, gave me a great price and a whole bunch of extra bits. Thanks!!

Very nice! Personally, I'd have done it slower. About 0.75x would be perfect I think. But then again I'd never have pulled this off in the first place, good effort. -

What strings are you guys using? I'm a big fan of the Dunlop Super Bright rounds in my 34" bass but they dont seem to do shortscale sets. -
Struggling to process this one. I don't really do the whole celebrity RIP thing, but Pulp were "my band". I play bass mostly because of Steve. My username is a reference to one of their songs, and one of his killer basslines. It feels really quite odd to be quite so upset at the death of a total stranger.

I like that a lot. Good work - shame about the fret sprout.

Thanks. They sound good but I'm not sure if that's not just because they're much higher output and therefore louder - a classic trick for making one thing sound better than another...

I went to a gig a few weeks ago and the support band's bass player was playing one of these. The plus points - it looked ace and sounded great. I really enjoyed the tone that it produced. The downside - the bassist had stuck gaffa tape over the bass side of the bridge pickup, which I couldn't work out. However the singer made reference to "so and so on bass, doing great work despite having a broken instrument". Seems to me like if you get a good one you're laughing, but disappointing to see so many issues with the QC.

One day my mate's Boss overdrive stopped working. Swapped out the battery, cables, etc., definitely the pedal at fault. He took it to the shop, they tested it, it was fine. He took it home, it stopped working again. So he took it back to the shop and insisted they send it back to Boss. Three weeks later he gets it back with a note from Boss saying its absolutely fine, but when he plugged it in again it still wasn't working. Was about to head back to the shop to give them an earful when he noticed that... ...he had the input and the output plugged in the wrong way round.

I love my TGI Extreme gig bags. £50, proper straps, really good padding. I've owned mono cases and these are almost as good at about 1/5th of the price. I regularly walk a couple of miles when using mine.

Thanks. I think after reading some reviews they're maybe not for me, although at that price might be worth checking them out.

Weirdly, I have the same Player series precision, in the same finish, and have also been considering black pickguard + dimarzio P combination. 🤪 When you say they were a bargain, are they on sale somewhere?

I'm intrigued as to why you would want to. "D - A - D - G" is a super common tuning, so it makes sense to be able to switch between that and E-A-D-G. But Eb-A-D-G...??
-
I like the holes (great work!) but that scratchplate combined with a gold bridge makes my head hurt. One of them would have to go!

I had a schecter guitar and it was really great. Good build quality, excellent spec. The downsides are the resale aspects. But I'm not sure we should buy instruments with that in mind. Personally i think their basses look great. The Banshee in particular.

Also tried out flats this afternoon. Didn't suit the bass IMO. Sticking with rounds for a bit. Having a usable tone control definitely helps in that regard!
