  1. Hi folks... Cash is king, might consider trades against a Digitech Whammy V or Bass Whammy. (yes, I am selling both a Beta AND a Beta DLX. They're awesome and you should buy them). 2. Shipping is available so dont be shy folks
  3. Nice! I can't pretend I know much about Warwicks but the Dolphin really is a cool instrument. Looks like a very nice example and a cool back story too.
  4. After reading the manual I'm about 99% sure I'm getting one. The overlap between effects slots works for me pretty much perfectly. Only question is if I wait for Amazon to get them in stock, purely because their returns process is so good if required.
  5. I'd argue that anyone who wants MIDI doesn't want an ME-series Boss unit in the first place. If you're going to control it remotely, then you're kind of defeating the USP of these units and would be better served with a Gx-100 / GT-1000-core which will offer a lot more options to the MIDI fiends.
  6. The market is people like me - people who like the idea of multifx but who don't give a toss about complex routing, who like WYSIWYG controls, who hate menu diving but who want the ability to add a few different effects here and there. The ME series has long been my favourite of the Boss MFX and I suspect I'm not alone. I'm no luddite - I use Helix Native, and I've owned an HX Stomp, a Gx-100, and god knows how many other effects --- but this seems right up my street. I'm sorely tempted to order one tonight.
  7. Up for grabs is a (mini) Crybaby Bass Wah CBM105Q. Great sounding wah, but I prefer the full size one. Be warned, the spring on this one is a bit squeaky (a common complaint with sprung wahs). Its a bit annoying but doesn't affect operation in the slightest. £65 posted in the UK please photos here: https://imgur.com/a/2gB5sZ7
  8. I've got one of these, but I don't really use the presets and I am not a big fan of the sound that you hear having no relation to where the knobs are physically set (which is partly why I don't use the presets). Does the VT Bass DI sound the same? (or does a different Sansamp pedal sound the same? I can't keep up...).
  9. No, and I've never seen the point.
  10. A chance conversation with someone about something else has sparked an interest in Stingrays now, so trades/part ex against a musicman considered.
  11. Aenima is my favourite by a mile. Lateralus is the poster child for "glorious moments but too bloated". There's about three tracks too many IMO and almost all of them are too long. I'm one of these weirdos that actually prefers Puscifer, tbh...
  12. I absolutely love the nickel wound super brights. They were a revelation when I found them. I do wonder if the name puts people off. I don't think they're particularly bright at all.
  13. Somehow I didnt know that either. I also realised I had no idea what either he or Adam Jones looked like---I like Tool, but I know very little about them for some reason! Carina Round, who is the singer in Maynard's Puscifer side-project, is also English so I wonder if thats just a coincidence or if there's some kind of connection. I very much enjoyed the watch, good video. I did laugh when his tech admitted they change strings during soundcheck and then again halfway through a show. Thats pretty remarkable. I also like the fact that despite having quite a complex rig, there's no MIDI switching bollocks, and I definitely love the fact he's not using any "boutique" unobtainium pedals. Will probably have some Tool on my headphones on my commute tomorrow, although I find the albums a bit bloated. They have some absolutely glorious moments but I think they need a better editor at times.
  14. Hi guys, I bought this on a total whim last week. Its a gorgeous thing, nice Japanese build quality, 32" scale. However after playing it over the last week I've come to realise I prefer my full scale / full size basses so I'm going to move it on again. Yes, I'm a shameless bass tart. It really is quite small --- the body is pretty much the same as a Les Paul Junior (guitar) and from the top of the headstock to the bottom of the body its not much different in size to my acoustic guitar. "the internet" doesn't know very much about these---there's a thread on here from a few years ago where someone went "does anyone know anything about these?" and the answer was "no, but they look cool". Pretty sure they were Japanese domestic market only which would explain that. Complete gallery of pictures here (being slightly cheeky and re-using some of the ones from the dealer). https://imgur.com/a/ojHLARs The bass is 24 years old but is in good condition. Given the age there are a couple of dents in the finish, I think the worst one is the one on the lower horn, which I have tried to photograph. Yours for £325 collected. I can probably post it, I have the packing material that it came to me in---but you might need to wait a week or so for me to be able to post it. TRADES wise --- I'm not desperate for trades but something semi-hollow, or a nice J flavoured thing might appeal. Can potentially add cash for the right thing. QUICK SPECS BODY: Basswood. 15. I remember playing a 4003 in a shop twenty years ago and lamenting the fact that as a student I couldn't afford the £1300 or whatever it was. If only I'd known 😭 TBF, that was the last time I played one. I'm a lot better at bass now, I'd like to see what the 2024 me thinks of them.
  16. So what makes this "the one" compared to the ones that have come and gone? As a fan of Fender style basses I'm always intrigued as to where the differences lie, because the basic recipe has been the same for 60 years...
  17. I've never been that "into" Spector basses but I'd make an exception for that white one owned by @Paulhauser. Oofft, beautiful.
  18. This thread has been far too inactive. Can anyone remind me of what the "normal" thinking is re:strings for a 32"? I can't remember if I can buy standard long scale ones or if short scales fit or if it's even more niche than that...
  19. Nice! I've wanted a DC Danelectro bass for about as long as I can remember (thank you Fat Mike). They never seem to come up second hand 😞
  20. Hello, Picked this up on here recently but after a bit of experimentation I'm moving it on again. £75 posted ***SOLD*** Its a variable High Pass Filter, Low Pass Filter, and Boost/DI. Built by one of basschat's finest (not me!) Its currently set so that the footswitch engages the LPF. (You can modify this setting internally, you'll need to read the Schalltechnik_04 documents to work out how!) Lots of pictures here: https://imgur.com/a/oNrkLrP Here's a link to all the info: https://schalltechnik04.de/en/instructions/vong-filterung Previous sale ad here :
  21. Another Neotech Mega strap user here. Had several for years and never had any problems with them.
  22. Picked this up recently because I've been wanting to try out the latest generation of Boss modelling. Verdict: very good indeed, but I'm still not a multiFX guy. Comes with power supply and also with the Bluetooth module for audio playback/app control (sold separately by Boss). Boxed and in good condition. Some slight residue/marking on the bottom from having velcro installed previously. Complete gallery here: https://imgur.com/a/iZ5dN8y Yours for £340 delivered in the UK. ***ON HOLD*** Would consider trades. I particularly fancy a shortscale bass like a Mustang or Danelectro.
