  1. One day my mate's Boss overdrive stopped working. Swapped out the battery, cables, etc., definitely the pedal at fault. He took it to the shop, they tested it, it was fine. He took it home, it stopped working again. So he took it back to the shop and insisted they send it back to Boss. Three weeks later he gets it back with a note from Boss saying its absolutely fine, but when he plugged it in again it still wasn't working. Was about to head back to the shop to give them an earful when he noticed that... ...he had the input and the output plugged in the wrong way round.
  2. I love my TGI Extreme gig bags. £50, proper straps, really good padding. I've owned mono cases and these are almost as good at about 1/5th of the price. I regularly walk a couple of miles when using mine.
  3. Thanks. I think after reading some reviews they're maybe not for me, although at that price might be worth checking them out.
  4. Weirdly, I have the same Player series precision, in the same finish, and have also been considering black pickguard + dimarzio P combination. 🤪 When you say they were a bargain, are they on sale somewhere?
  5. I like the holes (great work!) but that scratchplate combined with a gold bridge makes my head hurt. One of them would have to go!
  6. I had a schecter guitar and it was really great. Good build quality, excellent spec. The downsides are the resale aspects. But I'm not sure we should buy instruments with that in mind. Personally i think their basses look great. The Banshee in particular.
  7. Also tried out flats this afternoon. Didn't suit the bass IMO. Sticking with rounds for a bit. Having a usable tone control definitely helps in that regard!
  8. Its still VBT, but with much better quality pots and wiring. The stock tone pot in particular was rubbish.
  9. Hi guys In my bitbox I've found an old set of status hotwire flats that I probably took off a bass about ten years ago (eek). They've been coiled up in a packet all that time and would have still been fairly new when I swapped them out. Obviously i can suck it and see but any consensus on whether they'll still be fit for use? I know flats last ages but ten years coiled up is a bit different to the way people normally mean it!
  10. Yesterday i put one of @KiOgons excellent wiring looms in my embassy. Massive improvement to the tone circuit which actually feels like it works now. The more I play it the more I think I'm going to have to put flats on it, which is frustrating given the price of the damn things.
  11. Would love to, but the car died at the weekend 😡
  12. Oh ffffffffs. I just bought an Embassy a few weeks ago but I would have been all over these 😞
  13. You could get pretty much any Jazz and put some Dimarzio Area-J pickups in it? https://www.dimarzio.com/pickups/standard-bass/area-j-pair
  14. Hi guys, Anyone know much about the BB VIs? Been offered one and they seem to be hen's teeth. It's a 32" model, seems to be Japanese Market only. Similar spec to a BB300.
  15. Isn't this what the visibility attribute is for? Within a calendar, if you click on an event and mark it as private then I think only invitees can see the meeting details but everyone else can see that there is an event. That's certainly how Outlook works.
  16. Anyone put flats on and have some sound clips?
  17. That is pretty much what happens with linear taper tone pots. You may want to swap them for audio taper pots. Google for "audio vs linear tone pot" will give you loads of info.
  18. Love it, but I'm not sure I'd want a gold foil in a bass. Hmm.
  19. @Baloney Balderdash there was a company called Rautia who made a replacement for those Aria pickups but their website seems to be dead now http://www.rautiaguitars.net/aria-pro-ii.html
  20. I have no idea what that is but I like it. Is the neck as mammoth as it looks?
