1.
My newly acquired Graft Finn 4 (from Philly on here)
Congratulations
2. I realise that selling basses at the moment is fraught with difficulty. With that in mind I'm offering my tastefully modified 1987 Fender Jazz Power Special in trade for a fretless bass, 4 or 5 string. I bought this bass on BC from Kempy535 almost a year ago. His for sale thread is here and he has some really nice photos of this stunning bass (better than I can manage so I've included his thread) http://basschat.co.u..._1#entry1540214 I replaced the Fender bridge that was corroded (and will be included in any deal) with a Babicz bridge that is a functional work of art. http://www.fullconta...ing-bass-bridge The Fender Electronics have been replaced with a customised John East U-Retro that has the standard pickup 3 way switch as well as an active blend. The U-Reto has treble cut and boost, bass boost, treble bright setting and sweepable mids. The installation was a little noisy and I recently shielded all the cavities and completely cured the noise issue. I was so impressed I placed the bass in a Gear Porn thread: http://basschat.co.u...fender-fan-but/ The above threads say it all really. If you want to view and noodle you are welcome, the bass is in the far NW at Kendal. The playability and tone on this stunning looking bass are remarkable. There's a couple of small dings on the front, some corrosion on the neck plate and that's about it. I'm sure that I have the original electrics somewhere too if anyone should want them. These basses really are a bit special. The fit and finish are superb and the reversed P at the neck is awesome. I've not played a better Fender. Value wise it's difficult. I've spent more than £300 on the bass and I paid, if I remember correctly £575 for it but realise that money spent upgrading/repairing doesn't entirely reflect in the price. I'd place a value for trade purposes at £675. Here's some photos with apologies for my inability to identify vertical :
3.
1987 BB5000. A total beast.
Swoon!
4.
thanks for your comments. if you're looking for a good fretless you could be interested in this beauty: http://basschat.co.u..._1#entry1915868
Thank you but I'm presently trying to cut back - too many basses. It looks rather nice, all the best with the sale. Peter
5. A local shop to me are simply brilliant and they are also developing online sales steadily. They will negotiate prices and Gary their bass man is not only a great bloke he can also play a bit of bass Promenade Music. Thomann have always delivered on goods and service.
6. What a great pair of video's, and Hannes obviously with a sense of humour too It makes me want a fretless.
7. I've been slow to realise that the 2nd hand bass market is pretty grotty from a sellers point of view. Pretty grotty is an understatement. First my near mint Stingray 5 and now this rather nice fender that won't sell at prices less than they cost. So I'm withdrawing from sale rather that take a huge hit here or on eBay. I suppose I'd consider an interesting 5er in trade and despite the dropped price this really is £650+ worth of bass by any standard I now have 10 basses, still I used to have 23 so it's not too bad I suppose
8.
Indeed, wish I'd seen it in time! Now could you please update your topic title - add SOLD at the beginning. Thanks.
And with you being a Moderator too
9. Someone got it for very little indeed.
10.
Is it coming to Moffat? Would be nice to try another BB, never tried one of the top models. I will have one with me from the impoverished (and undead) side of the family, a resurrected BB450
Indeed it is Matt and you can give it a thrash

12. I'm really not trying to show off Thanks re the special order info. Mine must have been suplus. I paid the usual price. A 2025 with ebony?
13. Exactly 9 lbs by my digital bathroom scales Dave.
14. When I ordered my BB2024 I was surprised to be asked if I wanted a maple or a rosewood fingerboard. I thought that rosewood was the only option. I chose maple because I could and I'm glad I did. I'm not aware of another. Are you? Oh it certainly equals all the hype btw Peter

24. Coming back to this forgotten thread. We did indeed sack the singer and lost our first gig on New Year (that he'd organised mainly to get his leg over with the pub landlady) in the process. He then told us he was going solo after the gig anyway (more money in his pocket being the motive I suspect) and that he didn't give a toss about how well the gig went. He failed time and again to turn up, failed to learn his songs and when he did turn up he was always at least half an hour late/pissed. It was all our fault evidently We are still hunting and advertising for a new singer and if one doesn't materialise soon I can see our drummer walking. He's good and that would be a shame. Bands eh
