1. Pete bought my Duesenberg Star. A straightforward and most pleasant transaction, thank you Pete Peter
2. This is a great price and opportunity if you need a power amp guys. Bump!
3. Due to complete lack of interest in this great bass, understandably as stated above, I'm keeping it. Peter
4. Bump before withdrawing and keeping Maybe I need to try to sell another bass. Can'r decide which one though, like giving away a child. Peter
5. I've my QSC RMX 850 power amp up for grabs. It's been used for a handful of band practices only and the band has gone so..... http://qsc.com/produ...Series/RMX_850/ It's housed in an excellent Boschma 4U flightcase and I also have the original box and manual. I bought the amp from new and it's been looked after. I'm looking for £235 with the flightcase (which cost £75 from Flightcase warehouse) or I would consider splitting and sending it in the original box at £200. It's heavy so delivery will be £30 to UK addresses. Collection not a problem as is reasonably local meet up. Bass is for scale and not for sale, no way Peter
6. Bump to the top for one time only I know this bass is 'only' a Vintage Tony Butler Signature P It cost something like the asking price. It is effectively in as new condition. It's been professionally refretted and plays like butter. It has 'proper' electrics, CTS pots and quality knobs. It has a new nut set up spot on. It's Wilkinson bridge and pickup are good quality items. It sounds great, it looks tremendous with it's black/black/maple style. It's cost over £400 to get to this state and yes it's still only a Vintage. I understand that. It goes for £250 + delivery or I keep it. I have 8 basses with a custom incoming so can't really justify keeping it but a spare P bass never goes amiss I suppose Peter
7. This bass is provisionally sold.
8. Feeling the love. Thnx guys:-)
9. Oops, 30"
10. Thanks Mike, appreciated.
11. I bought a Vintage Tony Butler Signature on a whim (it looks stunning) and to have as a cheap pub passive backup. The bass is well made with decent Wilkinson pickups, tuners and bridge. The electrics were cheap Chinese items that were replaced with a CTS harness and 'proper' knobs. The fretwork was woeful so I gave the bass to renowned luthier Phil Hartley in Bolton and he dressed the frets, set it up with new Ernie Ball Nickels and replaced the nut. So I spent another £200 on it and as I'm not in a band at the mo so I don't really need it. I'm looking for £250 plus delivery. Yep, 34" scale. It's a great P, what more can I say, plays ever so well, mint condition and in black with a 3 ply black plate I think it's classy. 12. I've taken a few photos of my Duesenberg Star that I'm looking to sell. It's a German made Star, not a 'Starplayer'. It's a twin pickup Vol/Vol/Tone model. It is a mint immaculate example and really does sound like it should imo. I've had a play on more expensive Gretsch models and I've found them disappointing. This sounds like you would expect a semi acoustic to sound, strong and with a hint of the acoustic. Oh and yes it does have a black flame finish in the curved back I'm looking at £450 plus delivery. Here's some photos:
13. Okay so I'm a bassist and the band is looking rather shaky so I'm up for new opportunities. I'm a bassing bassist based in Kendal but I'm not biased. Peter

Zoom MS60B

Thanks Dood. I'm presently using a Polytune, Darkglass (with EQ) and a Seymour Duncan Doubleback compressor. The Darkglass isn't getting used to a great deal of effect to be honest either. I'd like to add some chorus but prefer to be minimalist with a board. Am I right in understanding that the B3 can create up to 3 simultaneous effects (including amp sim and compressor) and the MS 4? I'm leaning towards the MS Edited to add, I've ordered a B3 - lol Peter

Zoom MS60B

Hmmm.. Liking the idea of this and wondering Dood your thoughts on the B3 vs MS60-B? Peter
16. A great piece of woody Scottish mastery and a great guy to buy from. Peter
17. Alan's ties were clearly laid out in the thread. 'Cheeky humour as is his want'? I didn't see the humour there at all. I usually have a good sense of such subtleties too. I don't personally associate Bilbo with 'cheeky humour' and neither evidently, at the time did Alan despite what agonising might have followed. I think you are being defensive perhaps? I'm a robust bloke but I do see an easy path of firing off clever anecdotes without taking full responsibility. If we were all sat around a room with all the extra clues available to us than it would perhaps be different. Peter
18. I can understand where Alan is coming from. I've known him for years and he is a particularly nice bloke who I count as a friend. Now I don't spend an overwhelming amount of time on BC nowadays (compared to how much time I spent here years ago) but I browsed the Beatles thread while I waited for the thaw to give me access home. I read Bilbo's comment that provoked Alan's reaction and given that Alan has emotional, cultural and family ties into this whole subject I'm not surprised he reacted as he did. I think the comment was poorly considered and inane in the extreme. There's a statement in NLP that I feel applies solidly here. The Meaning Of Your Communication is The Response You Get. I believe that Bilbo should share some responsibility as we all should for comments fired off from our keyboards. Peter
19. We perhaps would all benefit from a little perspective review here? After all, the Beatles, bunch of Norvern Munkeys. It's easy to debate the ins and outs of motive and moral standing when armed with a keyboard, heaven knows I do it. Sometimes a man hug and a beer would be the ideal approach. Keep with it Alan you are valued. Peter

ACG build

Nice to see some wenge in there
21. I find that as time passes I'm more open to a wider variety of music. Yes some new bands sound like old bands but I'm looking, and finding, stuff that stands out from that. Peter
22. Thanks, I've already changed the spec to two MC5's

ACG build

You know it makes sense. Congratulations.
24. Mel sold me a guitar chord book (the draw of the dark side eh?). Great price and prompt delivery, thank you. Peter
25. Mine presently sits in a small Boshma case and it's a neat and tidy one handed carry. It has a sliding panel at the rear for easy access without having two lids that take up more room. Recommended (the amp and the case). This is not a sales pitch btw, they really are good even if I get round to letting mine go Peter
