1. Peter chiming in having just got back from my hols. Les Evans basses are quite amazing really, extremely well made in fact built to survive a nuclear holocaust more like. My LE is a real contrast in design being the most sexy smooth lines possible in the body and neck joined with an industrial 6 bolt fixing. It was originally for sale (only because basses too many have I) but I'm presently holding it until the original owner has the funds to buy it back. They are high quality instruments, made in Liverpool. Not much seems to be known about Les Evans himself. Mark (Bassculture) might like to step in and educate us all? Peter
2.
I replaced a bartolini in a 97 Flea bass with an Aguilar OBP3 (18v 3 band)
Yes a great pre even though I replaced it yet again with an ACG filter based pre which sounds even better (i.e. totally awsome) to me, but it's a bit more than your £100. Peter
3. I'd obviously got the stories muddled, I had that down as the Macca one. Peter
4.
didn't Chris Squire say that his unique tone was down to the number of times his Rick was stripped and re-sprayed that it ended up being thinner bodywise................
That I think you'll find was Macca's C64. I am fortunate to have a mint one of each Peter
5. Wow, that went for a good price, congrtats. Peter
6. I don't think they were ever white. More like butter. Peter
7. Maybe try some photo's? Beautiful Rics, the most stunning IMO, better even than my 64S. Peter
8. Mine is probably the last bass that I'd see go. I bought it sans certificate so don't know the number unfortunately but it's a beauty. Peter
9. I have a slightly later one and this deserves to go for considerably more than your starting price, even in todays climate. All the best with the sale. Peter
10. Just to buck the trend I'd like to add my twopenneth on the Vista vs XP debate. My 1st homebuild PC was in the early days of XP and proved a nightmare to set up. The usual saga of instability ensued until SP2 was installed and seemed to sort things out. Vista on the other hand, with this much more suitable home built PC and my Vaio laptop has been absolute joy. So Vista? Bring it on And thanks for the link Peter
11. Many thanks for the update guys I'll visit shortly. Peter
12. Yep I've got one, great pedal but Vista not supported. Then again Line 6 refuse to provise Vista drivers for the Bass Pod XT live too Peter
13. Well I do like MM and I would say that one is sumptuous! Peter
14. Another new member posting to sell doesn't annoy me half so much as existing members posting comments that kill the sale stone dead when there's a perfectly good pm system. No surprise in the modern BC though. Peter
15. +1 on Finn's comment. I believe that everyone should have a pre 92 Thumb NT in their bass wardrobe. The neck is so wonderful I could eat it. Growls like a Grizzly and made like a real Mercedes. In fact the parallel with Mercedes abounds in that early Mercs were built to a standard that modern ones can't compete with. This is an opportunity that only those in the know truly appreciate. Forget more modern Warwicks IMO, this is the real deal. So bump!! Peter
16. Hiya Yep mine is the non export P/J and it's absolutely mint in that 'off white' colour (Olympic?) with black edging and scratchplate. It never gets played as I have about 19 other basses and only ever have 4 or 5 actually out of their cases. Every time I get it out I find myself wanting to hang on to it But, the right offer would make me consider letting it go to help fund Uni. Peter
17.
Fancy Red Controversial P-bass with loads of bits added....Free to good home. Small donation of £422 required.
18. I really enjoyed the earlier Level 42 stuff when MK happened to front a band called 'Level 42'. It then became 'MK slaps for attention' and lost it's appeal. Because of this it's become customary to knock all lvl 42 stuff methinks which I feel is a bit of a shame. Peter
19. Very very nice indeed. Great basses. Peter
20. Yes it is, there is no scalloped face around the lower horn. Peter
21. Bump to the top for all you folks with those TRB4's stashed away in the attic! Peter
22. I think it may well be, very nice it is too. Peter
23. Hiya Rich I'm really not after money for this one (really) If you know anyone wanting to sell a TRB4 it could be sorted. Pictures to follow on Peter
24. Hiya all I have a very nice blue Mk1 TRB6 that I'd be interested in trading for the right Mk1 TRB4. A TRB4P even. Comes with origial case. Why, I'm more likely to use a 4 than a 6 and I already have a lovely TRB5P. Peter
25. Surely I'm not alone? Musically I love Jaco Pastorious. His playing sends me into realms of musical delight that few other bass players can manage. Nuance, tone and feel are superb. Peter
