1. here's some pretty pictures....
2. I'm offering my Eden Navigator preamp for sale at £350 ono plus shipping. It comes complete with 4 way footswitch and lead, plus a power lead. The amp has been gigged but has been looked after well. All features and outputs are working as expected. If you want to hear it, click on the audio on my website - www.bigtuna.co.uk or click on the videos to see it all lit up and shiny. I'll try to post pictures tomorrow.
3. Have the pre and power amps sold and would you consider posting to scotland?
4.
So, at what point does an expensive bass become too expensive to comfortably take to a gig?
It Doesn't. I take 2 of my alembics to every gig I play. The more expensive one worked out at around £4500 by the time I got it into the country, the less expensive one nearer £3700. Doesn't stop me hammering the hell out of them.
5. We've played there alot. (the videos on my webite were shot there - www.bigtuna.co.uk ). i always take my own rig, primarily because it's what I'm used to - has the features I need and I KNOW it all works. They have an SVT3 and what I assume is a 4x10 but I don't know how it sounds as I've never played through it. They also have 2 Marshall 1/2 stacks for your guitarists if they want to travel light. It's a great place to play - you get plenty set up time and the sound guys know what they're doing so if you want a particular mix in the monitors they can get it. Only problem is it's a very late night. I didn't get back to Broxburn till 2.30 this saturday morning.

11. I'm not that keen on GB anyway but I thought they had an unfair advantage using a bass that cost 2 or 3 grand more than the other instruments in the test. I'd have liked to have seen Overwater represented.

16. Next time, PM me and I'll try to make it down. I'm not on basschat as ften as used to be as it's been banned at work so youcan get me on graeme_jackson at bankofscotland.co.uk
17. I meant to add, if you're using cabinets with a diffferent number of drivers then the one with fewer speakers should really have a higher impedance so all the drivers theoretically get the same power - assuming you're running two parallel outputs from your amp. e.g. if your amp puts out 400watts into 4 ohms / 200w into 8ohms, run a 4 ohm 4x10 and an 8ohm 2x10 so all the drivers get 100watts.
18.
It sounds strange a 4x10 cabinet with 4 ohms impedance... It could happen, but 95% of them are 8 ohms.
I believe you'll find (if you do some surfing) that most speaker manufacturers now will offer their cabinets in both 4 and 8 ohms. Even eden have got of ftheir high horse and produce a 4 ohm 410XST. From my reading today I've so far only found Trace elliot not providing a 4 ohm. Haven't checked the likes of ashdown yet - I've only been looking at kit that sounds good
19. You could always come up to edinburgh to hear mine at full blast ;-) alternatively, isn't there a guitar guitar in the newgate centre in newcastle? The one up here is an Eden stockist.
20. Just wondering whereabouts in Blyth the rehearsal rooms are? When I lived at home (left in 84) we practised in St Mary's church hall or the old 1st blyth scout hut before they bulldozed that whole area to make way for the keel row car park. I can let you know next time 'm coming down to see the folks and I could bring my navigator / qsc rig down for you to try out - you'd need your own speakers though. Can't make it next week sadly - gigging in edinburgh.

23. + yet another one on how great a day it was. It was great to meet up with all the folks we've seen and developed friendships with over the last 4 years and it was nice to have a chance to chat with new aquantances -Pris for one example -Richard Bona for another. The highlight for me was definitely TM Stevens. I've been waiting t see him since around 1995 and I wasn't disappointed. Richard and Yolanda also get a huge thumbs up. I was disappointed with Hadrien's set, not just because of the music but because his sound was so muffled. Same with Janek's tone - are they getting that tone deliberately? If so, the amp manufacturers need to have a word -I had spent ages talking to the markbass guys about changing my cabinets but listening to hadrien has put me right off. On the other hand, both Stevie and Richard made the EBS kit sound superb so for now I'll be staying put. I did think that all the drummers that played during the day were excellent, in articular, robin Guy with TM. Amazing that they'd only met the day before. For the future, I really think Stevie's band should do a set - I've been listening to his album since I got back and it's excellent. I'd have also liked to try out some other manufacturers this year - we had the same bunch as last year whereas previously, we've seen both warwick and Eden stands. My mate Mike made the comment that there wasn't alot to attract youngsters and newcomers to the instrument - none of the amps / basses could really be called entry level To all those saying they had to miss the last couple of acts because it was getting late, we stayed to the bitter end and still got safely back to edinburgh before 3.30am

25.
There are great options for food just around the corner from the venue - an excellent and cheap noodle bar on Oxford Road (just before the Flea and Firkin pub). If you can drive up to Rusholme (5 minutes up Oxford Road travelling out of the city centre - less than a 20 minute walk), you'll find some of the UK's finest Asian restaurants - the Punjab Tandoori on the left is fantastic and has an excellent range of strictly vegetarian food alongside meat dishes. If you can make it into the city centre, the Chinatown district is massive (around George Street) and offers fantastic lunches at giveaway prices. I can't believe what I've done - I'm attending a party in London at the weekend and will miss Bass Day (and a curry).
Surely the whole point is that there is so much going on through the day we don't want to leave the venue so decent food onsite is vital.
