Can you not buy it and pay, wait for it to arrive, and then dispute it through paypal and get the postage back? Claim you never realised, just looked at the total cost. I don't see how they won't refund it, if he's only paid £13 to post it.
Now 'that' is very devious... I like your way of thinking!
The Neck looks a little out of place, but you still do see ultra figured bits of maple on even lowly Mexican Strats and Teles, so it's not unheard of.
Agreed that you can get figured Fenders (even on recent cheapy stuff) but I've rarely seen one like that on a late 70's P bass and it looks heavily lacquered (tinted) and shiny in comparison to the body wear.
Some nasty looking lump of wood and metal - looked like it was painted black with hammerite smooth and with 'Fender' written on the headstock in silver paint. Must have been the contender for the worst counterfeit Fender ever.
Cheers. No surprise it was pulled then!

That's a highly figured piece of maple for a Fender bass, I'd be interested to know if the Fender experts think the neck is Fender and original? The x1 Jazz + x0.5 Precision pup seems an intriguing mod' I'd like to know the rational (and how it works) behind that. If it is wired in then its obviously intended to beef up the D G strings but I'm just not sure how that would pan out or (and this is my guess) is it just a Jazz pup and the 1/2 P pup is just to fill in the offending space!

This is for sale by the same seller on BC!

Badly listed Hohner Jack headless
warwickhunt replied to Mr. Foxen's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
tbh giving an instrument a limited title etc can work in an odd reverse psychology kind of way. People will look to see what kind of electric bass (you would wouldn't you just in case it was that 'attic' 61 Fender Jazz that Dad forgot about) and then might think 'hmmm I'll watch that just in case it goes cheap'. I reckon £120 to £150! -

Just another perspective. I own a pair of DB12's which I take as a pair to every gig and they sound phenomenal. However, due to the fact that I always take the 2 cabs out to 'every' gig (the sum of the two parts is much better than the whole) I do find myself hankering for a one box option and have seriously considered getting the 1212L on more than one occasion (the DB2x12 is just too big and heavy a single lift)... just petrified of losing that quality Aguilar DB tone! The grass is not always greener.
Might be time to get these er15s sorted. Anyone recommend a supplier, and somewhere to get the moulds done in Nottingham?
I don't know Nottingham at all BUT I believe that Specsavers will have a branch near you and they will either have an audiologist on site or the branch will direct you to the nearest one. Even though I've had a bit of hassle with mine, Specsavers have tried their damnedest to resolve it and it's mainly been down to the supplier of the actual filters not getting it right. If you go ahead you could get a set of ER9's and buy my 15's as spares for those louder gigs... or get the 25's and the 15's for quieter gigs!
If anyone has the 'Specsavers' type earplugs with the inserted filters and needs a set of ER15 filters then I'll have a 'brand new' set for sale in the very near future. Basically, Specsavers messed me about with my plugs and have ordered a spare set of ER15 filters for me as compensation.
In fact after protracted 'negotiations' I have ended up with a couple of sets if anyone is interested. http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=99696 I should say that Specsavers have tried their best to resolve the fact that I had a dodgy filter in my original set of plugs but it has taken months of hassling to get the appropriate filter in the appropriate colour; including a pair being delivered via registered, signed for post to an address as yet unidentified and signed for by a complete stranger (that one is down to the manufacturers and Royal Fail to sort out not me).
-
Long story involving a mahoosive c*ck up on Specsavers part (I've been allowed to keep these as spares by way of compensation for my inconvenience) but I have two pairs of 'brand new' sealed in packets, never fitted, ER15 filters (beige). £35 delivered Please note unless you have a set of custom moulded plugs these are of no use to you whatsoever! I've included a pic of the pair that I sold to another BCer last month (oh yes this Specsavers fiasco has been going on some time) though please note that the ones that I have for sale are beige/flesh coloured as opposed to clear. Very useful if you have a pair of ER9's or ER25's. A long shot I know but I would do a straight swap if anyone has a set of ER9's, for obvious reasons I would need them to be new and unused.
I used to use ebay a lot but not now the fees are so high, complete rip off, payscam charges you 3.5% of the amount to RECEIVE your money!!! If I do use ebay I clearly state that I'll take paypal if you pay the fees, if not don't bid. It is ebays site so if you use it you abide by their rules. I choose now not to use them. I come here and use preloved which can work.
... and your sales get pulled how often?
Dusty?! My poor baby - she's offended! You know, I gave it a wipe over with one of these yellow dusters before taking photographs, I guess a couple of fibres have come off the cloth and spoil the third photo. The photos were taken outside on a VERY sunny day, I'll know better next time. Here's that mysterious G-string
Looks fine from those angles must have been a trick of the camera angle on ebay pics. btw eBay + paypal fees amount to about 8-10% of the final sale price! -
won it
Think I'll take one of his other items... hmmm only trouble is that if I organise my own courier he isn't going to be there (or will plain refuse) to have it collected! I do how ever have family down in Corby.

Is it an optical illusion or some dodgy camera angle but does the G string run out as it goes up the neck? It looks very close to the edge of the fingerboard as it goes up the dusty end! -
Do you have to offer Paypal?
I believe that is the case or it may be that you can't deny someone the option to pay you that way.
