I'd have enjoyed doing something like this but I'm in the wrong part of the country altogether!

Oddly enough I know someone who took a Warwick Streamer Stage I and had the P+J pup routes filled and then just fitted the P in the 'wrong way around' (i.e. as per Leo)... and this guy is a bit of a Warwick fan!

I've already pointed out that 'IF' what you say is true and he had a full set of images of the bass with everything disclosed, no hidden surprises and he turned up with a grand after you'd gone to that trouble then he is bang out of order. However, I don't know you, the situation OR a Vox bass from Adam so how can I or anyone else wholeheartedly castigate this other guy and pat you on the back? I'm 90% certain that as this other guy is a newbie on here then he may well have dropped you in the shyte but I'm not about to start a witchhunt based upon your view of the situation. However, had it been me I'd have done things differently.

Your reply looks perfectly acceptable and plausible to me; in fact it is exactly the kind of thing that I might have sent off if I were in a position where I was unsure about the future of my current band and was looking for something else and maybe wanted to know a bit more about this band before committing. I'd say that if their response is indicative of their general demeanor then you're better off well out of it.

Folks may well contribute to this thread that have seen a great many similar threads and they MAY know from experience that not everything is always clear cut. Some of us have been around the block a few times and it can pay to offer perspectives to help others. IF the guy only had £1000 in his pocket and fully intended to bat you down then that is NOT on however if he had some cash and was going to go get the rest from the bank but on seeing the bass decided that it wasn't as described then he is well within his rights to walk away... just saying.

Interesting that the ML is neo loaded yet is only a couple of lb lighter than my similar sized/spec DB112. Folks often get hung up on the weight saving of neo... not really 'that' much difference!

Have you checked the Warwick site/shop?
