'Bass Guitar' - How NOT to list a Wal bass!
warwickhunt replied to warwickhunt's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
Is the posting Kosher, been a few dodgy ones recently?
He's sold a couple of music items previously (as opposed to someone who normally sells children's clothes/cars/tat) but ultimately he has put collection only and the price looks about right... I wouldn't be buying blind but doesn't set major alarm bells off. -
Did some get a HUUUUGE bargain or wot?

I bid £340 on that when it was up last week but wasn't prepared to go that bit further when it was relisted; I suppose it is worth what someone will pay! -

'Bass Guitar' - How NOT to list a Wal bass!
warwickhunt posted a topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
OK he has a few details in the listing (a few) but to not even put in a key word like 'Wal' in the title is not going to help searchers find it. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/bass-guitar-/281066902338?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV&hash=item4170e49342 -
Looking for a light weight cab to match with the Warwick LWA
warwickhunt replied to lobematt's topic in Amps and Cabs
Wow ok! Thanks for that guys! Barefaced one doesn't look too expensive either! On that site it says that the recommended amp power is 150 - 600W, does that mean if I did pair it with a 1000W head I might blow it??
Highly unlikely especially as amps come equipped with a dial that allows them to go quieter as well as louder! -
My gig with Mark Knopfler... now with video!
warwickhunt replied to wateroftyne's topic in General Discussion
I'm still waiting for that set-list Michael; you know it makes sense to have a dep waiting in the wings 'just in case' you have an unfortunate... accident! Well dome mate, look forward to the post gig report. -
a fretless, stays a fretless always
A Zon maybe... I'll just have to fret my 'W' Dolphin up!
Yes i could sell my Zon Sonus
Can you stick some frets in it or sell it cheap enough that I can!

Looking for a light weight cab to match with the Warwick LWA
warwickhunt replied to lobematt's topic in Amps and Cabs
I'm a bit worried about going for a 115, don't want it to sound to muddy!
Don't let the size of the driver influence your choice. I've known 2x10's that sound like someone has put a foam pad between the drivers and the grill and last weekend at the NE Bass Bash, a certain 'Bass Doctor' nearly pierced the ears of everyone within hearing distance when he played through his 2x15 cab (it was easily the toppiest cab in the room [when used with his GK amp] and not a tweeter anywhere in sight). -
Original Zon Sonus case
http://www.classican...s/zonsonus2.htm Should fit just nicely!!
Nah, not for me that model; added to which I have sold full blown USA Sonus basses for that kind of money! -
-
Cheeky plug but I've just started a thread with a Zon Sonus case for sale... unless someone wants to sell me their Sonus to put in the case.
-
This is totally unlikely to fit any other bass but a Zon Sonus (my Streamer/Dingwall/Sterling/Sadowsky etc. won't fit). Decent condition but it is probably 15+ years old so not mint (there are various little nicks out of the leather along the spine where you stand it down on the ground); only point of note is that one of the little brass button feet off the 'back' of the case (i.e. not one of the four on the edge where you normally stand it) is missing, this doesn't affect the case use in any way. All of the catches work though I don't have the key to lock it. £85... or I'll buy your Sonus to fit into this case!
Ebay returned my money from his paypal account in full. I got the bass for free.
This can and does happen IF the seller refuses to respond to communications from ebay/paypal. Burying one's head in the sand doesn't work as a defence.
-
I've personal experience of buying on ebay and items being 'not as described' which ebay have found in my favour, however... according to ebay/paypal I have had to return the item to the seller 'at my cost' in order to receive a refund of the purchase price + shipping. In the end the seller lost the cost of shipping the item to me and I lost in having to return a misdescribed item; you quickly learn to ask very probing questions BEFORE you buy!

Fender MIJ 'Flower Power' 54 reissue P Bass. SOLD

It seems an obvious comment but be sure to try the neo loaded cabs before you buy. They are/can be significantly lighter in weight but I 'personally' have not found one that I like the tone of over my slightly weightier traditional drivers (I'm talking x2 1x12 cabs).

I'm guessing it'll be a Star bass.
