  1. When BackBeat 2 was announced last year I paid the initial $10 payment. Since then I've decided I don't want to buy the unit but I keep getting email "Invoices" for the remaining payment. I'm not bothered about the $10 but don't really want to incur any further expense. Does anyone know if the initial downpayment amounts to a contractual obligation and I'll end up having to pay the full amount or can I just ignore the payment requests now?
  2. It probably won’t come with a user manual but you can download it here: - https://www.fmicassets.com/Damroot/Original/10001/OM_2270100000_Rumble_LT25_English.pdf
  3. Selling so soon! 😮 I wish I could justify it but sadly I can’t. GLWTS.
  4. Yes, I’m getting quote notifications too, and mentions as well. So, reactions, quotes and mentions seem to get notified but where a thread is being followed either by posting a response or explicitly following it, those are not being notified.
  5. I seem to be getting notifications of reactions to posts but nothing else. Even then, I’m not sure if it’s all reactions or just some.
  6. Excellent thanks. As I will have access to a pretty good cassette deck I’m not going to bother with the Amazon tape thing. I’ve checked situation regarding output levels from the deck and inputs to my audio interface which should all play nicely together so I’ve ordered a set of phono-XLR cables from Amazon which should arrive today. I’m pretty sure the tapes will be Dolby B recordings so I’ll try recording without NR as suggested. The bit rate info is also good information thanks. I’m quite looking forward to experimenting with the variables that doing it this way allows and as long as I can get the best possible initial recording into Logic then I can play around with post-production settings to my hearts content. 😊
  7. Here… Hard to beat this deal and Gerry is a great bloke to deal with.
  8. I noticed this too but to follow your suggestion for several images across multiple posts is not easy to do. If some sort of global conversion could be done in the back-end that would help a lot if that were possible.
  9. A few notifications seem to work but the majority don’t in my experience.
  10. I have a Fender Rumble LT25 in the bedroom and it's a very good practice amp. I picked one up second hand in an 'as new' condition for £120. Cheaper examples may be available. There's a lot going for it compared to the plain Rumble 25 in that it has 50 programable patches which can be edited with a computer using the Fender Tone app. It has 20 effects, 15 amp sims and a built-in tuner. There's an Aux input and a headphone out as well as USB connectivity which can be used to program it, update firmware and also output to record straight into a DAW. It's a versatile amp that covers everything a new user would need in a compact unit.
  11. I'm sure that's more than up to the job but it looks like a seriously expensive bit of kit!
  12. Thanks, this is really useful advice. I think this is the route I'll take as I've confirmed my mate's cassette deck is a Tascam model which I think is a half-decent bit of kit and should be better than the £20 option from Amazon. I should be able to get the right cables for less than a tenner from Amazon. Cheers
  13. The other option is to wrap the tapes around my head and transfer them by osmosis. 😂
  14. I the other thread on this subject I mentioned that Leicestershire Trading Standards supported the 2020 prosecution of this chap which resulted in him being convicted of five charges of fraud by false representation and two of falsifying articles for the purpose of fraud. It might be worth also contacting Trading Standards to bring him to their attention again.
  15. I have a few of my old band's cassettes from the early 80s which I'd like to convert to a digital format. I don't actually have a cassette player but I might be able to borrow one from a friend. I'm thinking it should be possible to connect the L/R phono out sockets to my dual input audio interface and then record into two Logic Pro tracks. If this is viable solution then it raises a few questions if anyone can confirm the best way forward. 1. The tapes are the best part of 40 years old and haven't been played. I'm guessing there may be some oxidisation and probably print-through. Is there anything that can be done to minimise any effects of that? 2. My audio interface has two combined XLR/Instrument Jack sockets each with a Line/Instrument toggle switch. What sort of levels can I expect to get from the cassette deck phono out sockets which input options will best match that signal? Knowing the answer to this will help me to source the right cable/connectors. 3. Assuming I can get a good signal into Logic, is there any processing I can apply to enhance the recordings? Alternatively, I anyone has any suggestions on a better way to achieve this they would be gratefully received. Thanks
  16. If this is the same person who was previously convicted of fraud in Loughborough Magistrates Court on or around 15th January 2020, is it coincidence that this recent activity coincides with the expiry of his two-year suspended prison sentence? However, surely the police who dealt with the original prosecution would be interested to learn that he's returned to his nefarious ways? Also, Leicestershire Trading Standards were involved in that prosecution, perhaps it would be worth contacting them?
  17. I’ve bought screws from that eBay seller before and he’s a really good guy to deal with.
  18. Either that or just play it at sweaty gigs. About 5 years should produce the desired effect. 😂
  19. Beautiful ! You’re very lucky to have landed that. 👍 What is the weight by the way? Do you know if the body is chambered? I have a Shuker Precision but it is rather on the heavy side and I was wondering what the difference would be.
  20. I guess it would be useful to keep a note of that information to trot out if asked again in the future whether it actually applies or not. It’s clearly an acceptable answer and how are they going to know if it’s true or not?
  21. The Affinity was listed in your original post albeit with a question mark. The Affinity probably £100 or so cheaper than the CV and isn’t as well finished so it’s an easy one to discount. It’s not in the same league as the others you’re considering.
  22. Yep, there’s nothing bold or bright there. Even the shell pink looks a bit insipid. Is the text some sort of sarcastic addition by someone rather than official company marketing material?
