  1. Start with a look on FB market place and Gumtree see if somethings local...
  2. This post cannot be displayed because it is in a forum which requires at least 1 post to view.
  3. https://reverb.com/item/73297157-maydevale-b-1p5-low-rider-alnico-4-p-bass-pickup-5-string Give him a shout about winding a Jazz Bridge for a 5 Stringer...
  4. Found some gloss black left in a rattle can, along with a squirt of clear lacquer... Voids Sorted... I like the idea of the gap
  5. Ibanez Pickups and Pre from a '10 SR300... £45 UK Posted EXF-4F Neck & EXF-4R Bridge Pickups. Vol, Blend, Style-Sweeper, Concentric 2EQ Bass / Treble - Inc. Cosmo Chrome Knobs, Battery Box and Snap, all Mounting Screws, Foam, Springs etc. Suit Stealthy Build.
  6. Then they are likely to want it returned. If you didn't buy / pay for a damaged one, them you shouldn't put up with it... it will get to you and rob you of your enjoyment. If on the other hand would of purchased the ding model for £100 discount - no sure of normal cost - then it could be 'Happy Days'...
  7. ^ I could of kept the original pups 'n pre... but want something different with a bit of a pro-mod look. Something like this... but with a bit more border to cover the old route...
  8. If i post more pics of the 'Ghastly Void' hopefully it will make one of them clever types with a 3D printer's teeth itch... 'lil black bezel - central cut out for std jazz N and B sizes - attached with double sided tape so no screw holes and easy-alignment... might even be a print file with the inside pup shape done, just change the outside dims... If ya catch my drift...
  9. Knobs... try Vanson nice feel and quality. I like there Full Dome knobs(!) and have em on lots of bitsas and modders... push on though. High Output Pup's... Entwistle JBXN... https://entwistlepickups.com/ Modification Suggestion... How much room under the scratch plate?... Go Jazz PJ!
  10. The pickups are 4 wire 'Stacked Coils' so you can series/parallel switch them, in a Jazz cover. I'll prolly just go Series. So dunno if that still counts as a 'Single Coil' - similar idea to a Split P I think - and go A250k as they are not a big meaty pair of std single coils type 'Humbucker' and go A500k Was gonna go A250 to stop em being to bright? Edit: @Hellzero A500k and MN500k on order... Also Davii of MV Pups (FB MP and Reverb) confirmed, suggests no lower than 500k...
  11. Gonna wire Vol (A250k or A500k?) Blend (MN250k or MN500k?) and an Artec QTP - Quad Tone (and Bypass) Passive 5 position switch.
  12. Fender rather than Squier? I'd start by saying thats a £100 ding and see what the response is...
  13. Found a set of Adagio Rounds in the draw already cut for an Ibby... Matching Red Silks top and bottom... Nice! Cream Covers on order to try and tie-in the maple board, and help highlight the 'Modified' with the black (screening) painted route... You get the idea...
  14. Clue was in the background... Don't see the Maple board versions that often, not glossy-shiny just an 'almost there' finish. 0000 Wire Wool to the frets, and Bees wax applied with 0000 Wire Wool to the fretboard. Green Sponge to the back of the neck and Castrol Motorcycle Polish for the body. The maple board neck is rather lovely, "don't have a maple one" was the justification to MrsPlug!
  15. It's all @Raslee fault and his bargain pair of Maida Vale Stacked Jazz Pickups...
  16. You knows i loves an Ibby SR... Don't usually do red... but the CAR is nice... and this is a lesser common SR300 as...
  17. Bargain! 2 for 1... Would certainly sort 'an old Squier Affinity Jazz out! ...Must resist trawling FB MP for a Jazz Basket Case... Some Maida Vale Blah Blah... I've got a P...
