If you dont want to profile the poles to match the fingerboard radius... maybe a 3D printer enthusiast may sort you out?

40 Grit Orbital Went thru the thin veneer chasing off the photo grain. Ta-dah! My very own Knotty... still some 40 sanding to go... Plan is for a bit of tactile wood feel, not Super-Smooth. Tru-Oil with 120 using a slow and lightly applied orbital for Slurry, then Dry and Buff. Then again with 240. Thoughts?
-
Quite pleased with how this came out...
-
^ PVA'd some matchsticks in the scratchplate holes...
-
Quick go with an orbital 40 grit Love the smell of sanding lacquer in the afternoon! Wood under the Photo-Grain layer looks OK so far...
-
Thanks all... I'm gonna go for it, that knot looks knarley cool - hope i get one of them! Gonna be a Tru-Oil Slurry Finish.
-
Going to remove the finish back to whatever wood is under there... Any tips by anyone who has removed the photo finish. Sanding and More Sanding, or Heat Gun?

Odd quote for a bass 9.5” Fingerboard Radius - This versatile modern fingerboard radius offers maximum comfort up and down the fingerboard and works well for both rhythm and lead playing.

These arrived today from our very own @taddy https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/126402119405 custom sheet Some more sanding required before i can apply it... but couldnt wait to see how it looked

More pics... Cheapo P Mod or Bitsa are the bassic of bass... everyone should do one! Or more... Might try a spare QTP in this?

This would be wired to the vol pot same place as to the jack socket, so you could wire it across the jack socket! (INPUT RED / GND BLACK on your Tone Switch) Or... you can wire the + to the pickup in on the vol pot.
-
You will need longer wires to get from the jack to the Vol... Your new Tone will then jack out and ground (or pup in and ground)
-
Bingo!
-
If you have a multi meter? One wire should buzz out on all settings - ground - vol pot case The other at the different switch positions - hot or + from the Pup in (or hack out?) of vol What are the colour of the wires? I'm Red / Green Colour blind!
-
How many positions? 5 plus by pass? Wire out the vol pot as you would to a tone pot. I'm still undecided if tone should come out the vol in - full pup... rather than be influenced by the vol control coming out the wiper socket out? Anyone? I've used the Artec QP on a couple http://artecsound.com/pickups/electronics/qdd.html

Harley B PB50 spied at a price i couldn't leave it. Driving home wondering what lies beneath the scratch plate? No wiring help hole - Yay... But, who ever drilled the Scratch Plate holes, took a couple of attempts at the bottom ones - Boo... and the wiring hole in the control cavity is right at the top, with what looks like the finish sheet just topping it. So looks like Sanding Down the finish - specially as there are reports of a lot of hard filler used along with the double plate holes - may not be practical... which is a shame. Tuners are fine, Bridge is fine, Roswell Pickup is fine - Might do 'lectrics. So the only mod likely is the Headstock.. Mike Dirnt template - pdf wouldn't print full size from the Android App, so had to arse about with the computer. Jig Sawed... now for some sanding... got a cheeky decal coming...

Sanding a late 80's Stingray neck, sacrilege?
PaulThePlug replied to Tradfusion's topic in General Discussion
Green scourer, and just knock back the gloss and flatten the edges, as the scourer wears the coarseness reduces... then with the samecworn pad and a dab of wax, see how that suits you (Sir!) if thats enough, if not first steps to a complete sand, or refinish any hows... -
Had a look at at a few... Squier P, ibby SR300, Bitsa P, Bitsa J, Epi T-Bird Now working with a capo and feeler gauge, rather than a finger on the first 'n last with the Tap Test, i found that most were over relieved... Action on the E and G were there abouts the std 2mm / 2.5mm specs. Biggest surprise was when using the Radius Gauges under the strings, the A and D saddles needed raising to match the fretboard radius. Been fun, fell in love with my Bitsa's again, really got to have a look at fitting the bridge to the AliExpredd Ric-ish. Any odd tips etc on Set Up?

Filling out the sound with no rhythm guitar

Post resurrection... Scrolled up and as @fretmeister said back in '21 Embrace the Space, couldn't of put it better. Some great responses, specially with the use of dynamics and pace by the bass and drummer tom or cymbal work... Just been watching some Cream on the box, Ginger Baker moving it all about.
