  1. Shiney... makes such a difference. Lets have a pic of the whole bass? I use a dremel with a small polish mop, and a dap of Autoglym... Then the Dunlop lemon oil on the fret board.
  2. understated, and subtly applied...
  3. Modern? I only really go as modern as the Ibby SR shape, which i 'really' like... But.. the Squire P Bass in the back ground? - they just look so 'right' or is it just 'familiar'...
  4. 'It was a dark orange/red (not sure what the colour is called)'... Rust?... 😉 I did a re-fin on a Cruiser Crafter P-a-Like...stripped the red and went with Dutch oil on what i think is a bass wood body. Just googled the body shape...white pick guard? burgandy would go nice... black would be bland - shape deserves a colour... Mustard? or go a Metalic?
  5. My Bad... and thin for the high end... would expect more ya 30 or 40s to 100s ish then for normal 34" Bass Scale...
  6. https://www.ibanez.com/eu/products/detail/src6_1p_04.html Ibby SRC6 strung E to E with .024/.034/.044/.056/.072/.084 Bloke on here had one FS a while back...
  7. Just got the Zoom B1X Four (Thanks to Alfie Noakes...) Down loaded the Zoom Guitar Lab Software to the laptop and updated the Zoom's Firmware to V2 Thinking of backing-up the standard patches, and effects, removing them all, then loading up some of the effects in batches to patches to see what i like in stomp mode... Primary use is as a headphone amp... will have alook at the Amp and Cab sims to see whats what but really after a Marshall #1992 Super Bass Head circa 1976 kinda sound. with some drive, then a bit of phaser or flanger and spot of delay for some Hawkwind-esq Space Bass... what would be closest? Any pointers on the use of a Zoom and recommended settings to try would be most welcome. Looking forward to having a play latter... when my youngest has finished his Minecraft-ing.
  8. Had a Zoom B1X Four from Alfie... Quick response to emails, Quick dispatch, Arrived next day packaged to survive the rigors of Royal Mail. Units' box and contents, paperwork etc. all 'As New' as described. All Good!
  9. Nice... Good Darts!

  12. Blimey... Freddie Laker... That takes me back, listening to the Stranglers and Crass - Stations...Cor blimey, its the smelliest derrière... Early 80s... think i was about 12 or 13... Thanks for waking the memories... made me smile.
  13. stewblack... aka '20 Benton's...'
  14. Nice... 3 underneath, bit different... and kinda expectant to go hi C? 5 is only listed 'fretless' on the Ibby UK site... stewblack got the Fretted 4?... ...Then again... i think he's got one of everybloodything... 😉
  15. Been having a think... should spend my time learning a bit rather than twiddling knobs... Sorry to mess ya about... GLWS
  16. Still available? PM Sent...
  17. Nice... like the logo...
  18. How do Todd. I knew listening to Jazz was a bit odd... but didnt know that it was now considered a recognised disability... 😉 Nice... Enjoy Bass Chat!
  19. Ibanez GSR200... 😉
  20. Headphone amps... the little plug in things arnt great... i found out... Fair few going down the Zoom Muliteffects with hesdphone out route...
  21. Familiar and like the song.. (listening... not playing!)... Original / Remastered appears on a host of complilation albums. I found the alt version a pleadure to hear, add lib vocals, seperaton between instuments, a live in the studio vibe... sounded like they were having fun to me, possibly sounding a little rushed, but natural... Enjoyed that... will check out the album. As people are mentioning approach. i prefer a cover, not a copy. playing to be enjoyed with a bit of your own understanding - what the feel funk vibe and drive means to you - for all musicians...
  22. nice n simple design... stocky bridge...
  23. Nothing wrong with Gumtree... Cash-on-collection is Cash-on-collecton... nothing can be simpler... Reverb have there own 'wallet' for transactions, but at a cost yo the seller Its the arsing about people, chancers and scamers that are the problem, and they can lurk anyware...
  24. Spotted today in the local branch (Orpington) of Cack Converters... Ibby EDA900 - £249 Ticket... Just in case anyone is interested in a weird 'n wacky!... and as mentioned in the recent 'Skinny Necks' thread... took a couple of pics... would be in trouble if i bought it after the SR600 the other week...
  25. Right then, Got the GSR200 back in April... Bass guitar for Dummies has been well thumbed... Gone through (some) of the Hal Leonard's The Bass Method Complete Edition... More read in isolation, rather than with bass in hand... Found some tabs of fav songs to try and mimic... 5 Months of noodling about, bit of finger strength and dexterity earnt... most arsing about is unplugged - ('lil Marshall sees the ocasional use, plug in headphone thing aint great, and wont fit the SR600 without digging out a lead and an effect pedal due to socket) and for an hour or so in the evening to escape the soaps on the gogglebox... Recent bit of GAS... SR600... Nice! So need something to up my learning... any recomendations to move me along? has got to be FREE... no dosh for subscriptions etc. Thanks in advance.
