Early talk was about the T'Bird at the neck... but pics of his 4004LK with the RickenBuckers... have a Seymour Duncan 'Lemmy' at the Bridge...

https://guitarskillsplanet.com/how-to-adjust-guitar-truss-rod/ 1/8 or 1/4 turn at a time then leave for a goid few hours or overnight. Good fitting Allen Key. If loosening, slacken strings...

Nut slot should be slighy slanted to the headstock, so the string rests on the fretboard side edge of the nut... these are flats on my acoustic.

^...mmm... Try the tap test... Fret the string at the 3rd fret... Between the Nut and the 3rd fret, there should be a little gap, giving a little 'click' when tapping the string on to the actual 1st fret bar (not in the fret gap) Bridge looks low ish, and i see what you mean about maxing the intonation. This might improve with a neck remedy as the speaking length of the string will become longer... Recon the relief is BIG... More Pic's... might need another pair of hands. Fret at first and where the neck meets the body... 17th fret ish... Whats the gap between bottom of string and top of frets 7 and 9? Again 'Tap' click test... Business card to Credit Card gap... would be ideal'ish... then Adjust Saddles to clear all or most frett buzz dependingbon what ya after...

You mentioned shimming the neck... how, what with, how thick and where did you put the shim? Looks like it could do with a shim at the back of the neck pocket... did you put a shim at thr front per chance? Side on pick of nut, neck body join and bridge would help...

Squier Classic Vibe 50's Precision Bass - NBD/Review. Astounding.
PaulThePlug replied to funkle's topic in Bass Guitars
^Dab of vaseline on the worm n cog and give em a twist... On the cheapies i had i gave em a dab of Coppa Slip that is a little abbrasive, and a good few turns to remove any casting flashing and smooth out any edges in the platting. Then a clean with Carb Cleaner and dab of vaseline... loads smoother.... -
Other option may be to select tuner (without the Mute setting) as a quick bypass...

Not a real fan of the Tremolo Continued Wobble, or Auto Wah, but love a light Chorus, Phaser, or Flanger on a bass to give 'Space' and 'Movement' to what is usually a repetative phrase... well it is for me as a Hawkwind Fan! Convention is usually for the Delay to go at the end of the chain. Resulting in more of the same... Back im my skinny string days I liked to have my Phaser after the delay so the repeats 'Moved'. Try a Delay with a Few repeats, followed by a Slow Trem... Spose also depends if you are allowing the notes to ring on and join up, blending, or syncopating or muting to some degree or stopping before the next note for a defined repeat.

Just collected a 5 Slot Guitar Rack from Lap... He even offered a 'carry to car service' for the infirm! Nice.

GULP... Got far too many now... well so my Wife says... 2x GSR 200's a SR600, My P and J Bitsa's and my lovely Harley B Acoustic... Oh, and the incoming Rick-o-like... Enjoyed putting together my Budget P Bitsa... but this for about same money! Simple, elegant, stylish (not fashion!) Classic and lovely... I'd be going with a clear plate.

Zoom B3n How to select just one effects pedal from the manual list
PaulThePlug replied to Falcon16's topic in Effects
Zooms are such great bang for buck... Have ya got the FULL Manual? Not just a Quick Start Guide, and the FX list? https://zoomcorp.com/en/gb/multi-effects/bass-effects/b3n/b3n-support/ Start with making sure you have the latest firmware update... Think you want 'Stomp' mode... Me, with my Basic B1on, i cleared all the patches, and then printed out / looked at the FX list and just put one FX pedal in each patch... drives next to each other, Dists next to each other, Chorus' next to each other, etc. Easy way to compare and decide which i like best. Which sounds like what you want to do with the Dynamic FX. I don't use any of the std patches Just a couple of effects and amp cab sim, I have patches with Chorus, Phaser etc at different strengths and amounts of drive... Great way to build up and down within a song... or go one/two patch per song! If it goes Tits-Up... or after you have chosen ya Fav's to build ya own patches, Factory Reset and go again. Blank a Bank and Build . With the B3 in stomp mode you can turn an FX on or off within the patch. Also try the free Zoom ToneLib software. I have to cos Guitar Lib doesnt work for the old B1on. -
Did 'Hammy' need his/her truss rod adjusting?

I'll see how i go... i like the simple look of the Rick-o-like bridge, and aware that you need to shim the middle saddles to try to match the fretboard radius... gonna use something like a 1mm or 1.5 mm stainless steel washer underneath, Or depending on set up height, maybe file or grind down the outer 2 by a mill or so. Once height and intonation is set, fit n forget... not like i'm gonna be swapping strings often. Won't have any extra dosh to throw at it, ala Hipshot at £150ish... or really want to dig out the body for any damper... and wouldnt want to fit a Fender Type high mass... It is what it is... Fingers Crossed it all works out OKish...

Stylised personalised decals ready for a blank TRC. Black logo for a white TRC, and i've asked for a TRC in matching fretboard wood (or a suitably sized blank...) so the White logo is for that... should look quite subtle...

There was an XL list kicking about with pickup placement dimensions... Got a pic of the Ray 5? Saw a Strat body with a big channel route under the plate so could be fitted SSS SSH HSH HHH! Can't you 'hog out' a center channel under the guard to allow for what ever pickup's and placement you like? Then plate up after?
