You mentioned a case as a possibiliy. If he doesn't have one than this will become a must have if he continues playing. Hard case or a good bag. I prefer a hard case as you can put it in the car and stack stuff on top of it. If I amusing a bag then I always make sure that it's the last thing in.
Just to make it clear that I don't listen to Rolf. I only mentioned him because he seemed an obvious ommission from your list.
To be honest he used to be a bit of a hero of mine for appearing to be a nice unassuming person who was very talented in many fields. Not anymore though, for the obvious reasons.
Not arguing with you as such, but as a general point it is hard to make a diagnosis on the basis of one concert. Anyone can have an off day or be ill. Possibly he should have cancelled the gig if that was the case.
I have no axe to grind here, David Coverdale could bump into me and I wouldn't have a clue who he was.
I guess you must be too young to remember the Faces and his early solo albums etc. These are what his career is built on (Suggest you have a listen). The reason he could do the stuff you mention (where I tend to agree with your opinion) is because he already had a career as a serious, distinctive and talented rock singer.
Personally I'd say that the low point of his career was the" Baby Jane"/"Do you think I'm sexy" era. and I think he tends to agree.
To be fair the regs only (an can only) specify noise immunity up to an agreed level. They do not require absolute immunity to any level of noise (e.g. you'd not be suprised if you were running it next to an arc welder!). To me it does sound as if the environment might be a cobtributing factor.
Just to update you all:
Four rehearsals in and I've decided that it really isn't for me and have resigned. The decider was that I just wasn't getting the buzz from it that I should have been.
Now looking for a Bluesy/classic rock sort of band to join.
Serious CNC machines are actually still quite expensive. Hobby machines are getting cheaper however.
Personally I would probably prefer a CNC machine over hand built, simply for the repeatability and accuracy. Even hand finishing should be reduced to a minimum by using the right machine and the right tooling. "Hand Built" no longer automatically means higher quality.
Yep, I starte to watch this with my wife, in great anticipation, and after about 5 minutes we agreed that it was crap and switched it off. Dissapointed, because his album work was generally brilliant.
