    Used them for about 40 years,started at .105 on then E and ended up with the .95s in later years.Lasted a real long time ,they feel a little gritty initially but that does not last long. Changed to TI flats on one bass a couple of years ago,and gradually ended up with them on all my basses

    Had 2 original jazz stackers that did not talk to me sound wise,they had more caps in than a vvt.The reissues don’t have the extra caps in,also a 65 car jazz it had an 02 cap in and sounded thin to me with the tone in the off position.Fender put the .02 cap in for a little while then went back to .05,maybe someone bought the wrong ones 🙈

    I bought a tort one for a Fender custom shop relic,think they had other colours,it had a nitro top and fitted perfectly,all the measurements were shown,they had them on EBay and Ali Express,was about 5 pounds

    Yes, and I use them most weeks doing a gig,turn 70 this week so I really should make an effort to sell the white one.Everytime I use the red one someone comes up and asks me about it that has never happened before with any bass and I have been playing over 50 years.People lined up for the red one but it’s not going😃

    Very nice bass,never been comfortable with .02 cap found on a lot 65s though .

    If I google gearporn basschat on my iPad it comes up.Once I was on gearporn was showing and later it had gone.No biggie it’s easy to check via google

    I have the brown 50s gig bag in the cubbord and explained to the missus they are quite rare,WE really should find an old 50s p again to fill it

    Another friend has the same year bass I sold him in fiesta red with matching headstock,only problem is British racing green is over the top of it
