  1. From small clubs and pubs to nationwide tours, pay to play has been around since the 60's at least. It's just another way for lazy promoters to screw musicians.
  2. I'm looking to add some sparkle to a Cort GB35J. Which EMG's have you chosen.
  3. I only know 2 guitarists using Gibson guitars, and they finally swapped them out for the Burney and Orville versions.
  4. I think the GB35's might be discontinued. The info I have, from the ad, 19mm at the bridge and a nut width 1.75" (45mm).
  5. Before Brexit I bought and sold basses from/to Europe. Never any hassle. Now the additional costs make buying from abroad prohibitive.
  6. I have never gigged pedals. So far a well matched bass, amp and cab is all I've ever needed.
  7. Hi, I'm interested in your TH700.

Can you detail the condition and any issues.

    Many thanks

  8. If you specify 5 string basses on the Bass Brothers site, annoyingly, it doesn't show you all of them. I found the old BD site OK to use. It was easy to get around and find the info I was looking for. As a person who can now only buy a bass if it is close to 8lbs or less, the weight option is very interesting to me. IMO they should add 2 more ranges options , 0kg to 2.9kg, and 3kg to 3.9kg. Also as a terminally lazy person I would prefer lists of products to click on rather than having to type the name in the search bar every time.
  9. I've only had a brief glance, but the Pre-Owned basses seem to have a weight specified. IMO that's a great step forward.
  10. Not Sunn amps. . . . just amps labelled Sunn.
  11. Gotta be in the For Sale section. . . . . . .
  12. In the early days Earth, Wind and Fire used 2 drummers, which increased to 3 when Maurice White took a drum solo.
  13. Surely on a gig like that, the "tuner" would be the bass tech?
  14. Ringo wants the support of another drummer. Charlie Watts had the same set up in his band. Back in the day we supported a couple of bands with that set up. Since then always wanted to play with 2 drummers but sadly never have.
  15. Did the roadie just bypass the pedals? Why does that guy need pedals on that gig?
  16. With the amazing Sonny T on bass and Michael Bland on drums.
  17. I never understood why Rush was so popular.
  18. If you're in 2 minds to sell, how about first trying an AG700 with those cabs. Should sound pretty good.
  19. As I said, I owned the same bass for 25 years. Then the internet came along and I went mad and bought another.
  20. I'm checking out light basses and recently bought an Ibanez EHB1505 (7lb) and a Cort GB35J (7lb 1oz) . So far I've gigged both in top 40 covers, reggae and blues rock bands, and they worked well in every situation.
  21. I prefer consistency. So I want the same note layout on every bass and every tune. I haven't done a gig in the last 25 years where a 5 string bass wasn't an advantage.
  22. I inherited a lot of very old and very large Victorian furniture when my Dad's aunt died. In the end we needed the space and couldn't sell it so we gave it to a local hospice charity.
