  1. Great stuff ๐Ÿ˜ผ๐Ÿ‘ I was at the hawkwind one . Wish I was at the venom one ๐Ÿ˜บ I remember the magnum one., where the frontman couldn't be heard . Very funny ๐Ÿ˜น After seeing warlock on there, doro mentioned that warlock were playing the marquee that same evening . Great gig
  2. Brilliant stuff!๐Ÿ˜ผ๐Ÿ‘ Have you got the box set with full concerts ?
  3. Being young , dumb and 'enthusiastic ' for a better word , I do appear on 2 nwobhm live recordings . Myself and my friend , kept shouting for " if I were king " on the vardis album . They played 100mph instead . The other recording is a bit more embarrassing , and a nice roadie let me do the following : At the marquee when iron maiden played 4 oversold out shows, I went to 2 of them . The first and the last one . They were filmed , but not on the gigs I went to . Anyhow , after maiden encored with "I got the fire " on the final night , the microphone was left on the stage floor . I picked it up . I thought about having it as a souvenir , but I saw roadie come with a smile on his face , and I just shouted " ooh iron maiden " . That is on the sanctuary ep.๐Ÿฅฒ( can't find embarrassed emoji ) Regarding jarre at the dock lands . I went to the rainy Saturday night . I met jmj at virgin records with my friend . We were among the last dozen or so before the rest got turned away . I didn't know what to say to him , so I just said " have a nice day '. He saw the funny side and thanked me . Again , I can't find embarrassed emoji. ๐Ÿ˜ผ There's probably more , and I may chip in later ..
  4. Believe it or not , it was a very calming reminder from my mum . No shouting ๐Ÿ—ฃ. Bizarre ๐Ÿ˜บ
  5. Just briefly skimming through before I nod off... If it hasn't been mentioned , have you considered ceiling speakers ? You could play your bass through an audio interface which then gets connected to them.. Also handy for your tv/ hifi etc.. Regarding errors : years ago when living with my parents I was wide awake at about 2.30 in the morning . I decided to crank my headphones full blast for a session listening to merciful fate. Mum came in politely , and advised me that it may be a bit loud. I realised that the place was virtually shaking as the headphones were not fully plugged into my stereo . I'll leave it there ...๐Ÿ˜ผ
  6. I was browsing one weds afternoon in our price Tottenham Court Road and found timewind . As soon as I played it, I realised it to be an ambient classic.Great gatefold sleeve . That was mid '80s As for obituary , I saw that in the new release section of virgin records one Friday afternoon . I Love it . ! ๐Ÿ˜ผ The album cover is more blue in the flesh ..
  7. To this day , 2 gigs standout : Iron maiden on the metal for Muthas gig at the Lyceum . Paul Di'Anno was actually asking mr sound engineer to turn it up more . We lasted about 2 songs into the encore but couldn't take anymore , and even die hard muthas were leaving also. Then there was the Mano war gig at the hammy o in '87 on the blow your speakers tour . They were good , lots of Marshall's on display My very first gig ( quartz, girl , praying mantis ) was ok until girl came on and deafened me . Didn't like them at all, but the sound was like the birds film . Lots of high screeching . Then again , it was my first gig...
  8. This is as good as it gets I guess . Gas boiler needs to be boxed in . A bit of filling on the walls , and eventual painting . Oh, and the Elvira picture needs to be properly alighned ๐Ÿ˜ผ
  9. It would have to be Roland, alesis or linn . Yes drum machines , so they wouldn't swear at me or throw their sticks at me Then again , the drummer at the wrong gig would probably be my choice ..
  10. Just ordered mine . Trying not to think of fruit polos ..
  11. Well there's faster pussycat , and there's b@startd pussycat . Sorry ๐Ÿ˜ผ
  12. I have the first metal for muthas album, but haven't played it for many many years. Mailnky because I was getting into other bands and lost interest. I gave my 7" singles to an animal charity shop. I play mostly cds these days , and found maintaing 7" singles to be a pita . One odd memory I have from the metal for muthas album , is thebootliggers track . The guitar solo sounded like a violin . It was in fact a turned down strat according to my friend at the time , but it certainly didn't sound like a metal guitar solo . I'll have to dig it out again. One band who I missed out on at the time ..more. My friends at the time had the album and saw them a few times . They even supported ted nugent at hammy o. Didn't do it for me at the time , but had a following . I think the guitarist was part of mammoth? Not sure what happened to the rest of them. They were on Atlantic records ...
  13. This is the thing . I'm loving the banter, but can't acknowledge your wit ๐Ÿ˜บ. Oh , well.. may try tomorrow ..
  14. Catching up on the thread: I too had the fist ep. I saw them at the marquee, but I think ( but not 100% sure) they supported diamond head there . They were good . The one thing I remember from the front man was that he had a guitar , but hardly played it . Motorhead : first time I saw them was at Stafford bingley hall . Awful coach journey, awful facilities ( well lack of) . Mythra were awful from what I can remember. Motorhead got presented gold discs from a queen lookalike at the end . The rain never stopped . Saw motorhead at hammy o on the ace of spades tour twice ( 4 nights ) . Had the flu . Exodus : saw them supporting venom with chariot . Great gig . One of those where it was packed downstairs but empty upstairs I the balcony . Paul bailoff mentioned killing poseurs ๐Ÿ˜น I think regarding Saxon , the funniest thing I saw at the Lyceum :: The eagle backdrop fell ontop of the drummer. And blute the guitarist got it spectacularly wrong when he spinnned the guitar blindfolded and hit himself in the face . Vardis seemed to support everyone as far as I remember . I think from a London point of view , the biggest gig Angelwitch did was headlining the Lyceum . Pete ways book is a must read .. I'll leave it there for now ..
  15. Thanks for your help ๐Ÿ‘ It took me a while to get to grips with GarageBand . Thanks Covid . I looked at logic because apparently if you have reason , then that can be merged into Logic Pro also .. I stand to be corrected. Plus it has loads more stuff . The only other applications I have used are Ableton live light and a demo version of cubase many years ago. In terms of ease of use it seems that GarageBand suits me . One example , is that on ableton the transport buttons don't seem straightforward . On GarageBand , everything is in front of you. I'll leave it there ..
  16. Yes ! Masters of reality first album also purchased from shades . Awesome The album was rightly lauded by the music critics , but ended up in many shops for as little as ยฃ1 -3 . I kid you not ๐Ÿ˜ผ The gatefold sleeve is cool too I paid substantially more ..
  17. I remember going to shades records one Friday afternoon ( regular customer) I heard them playing this album and was blown away, They had the import ,and I had to go back the following Friday to get it . That , and manic frustration are 2 fantastic albums .
  18. Was that 20 party classics ? Seem very jolly ..( sorry ๐Ÿ˜บ)
  19. Howdy! A bit of an odd question here. Mac user. Throughout lockdown I have been recording on GarageBand and quite enjoy doing so . I do have reason , but for some reason ( please excuse ๐Ÿ˜ผ) I find that it looks more complicated than GarageBand . Dare I say , intimidating I was wondering , if it was best to try and overcome my fear of using that software , and just purchase logic instead . With GarageBand for example, it is straightforward to me ,but reason looks more complex . Any thoughts ?
  20. Thank you ! I have early sabs, and trouble . I have the icon album from paradise lost , but haven't played it for years . Have heard of electric wizard . Have a cathedral track on a '90s complication which is good . Heard of my dying bride. Lots to look into here ..
  21. Yeah, saw girl school many times in the '80s . Always good value . I'd say if they were just starting out now , they'd be a lot bigger . The last time I saw them was with rogue make at the Hammersmith Clarendon . Rogue male supporting . Very late '80s/early '90s . Jim lyttle was a top bloke . It was a good gig . Onky saw rock goddess once at the marquee around the same time . They were good. They just passed me by for some reason . Not sure of the ins and outs , but I'm not sure if they were managed / promoted very well ..
