1. Well, I like the idea that you can just use the palms of your hand . Also the various effects etc. I was thinking of using it for recording purposes etc. As I live in a flat, this seems the nearest to using another instrument other than bass,) Cheers
2. I don't / can't play drums, but these look like fun. Thanks gilmour,)
3. They look cool,) ( okay there is a bit of a toilet seat thing going on ...)
4. Regarding the active circuitry: This started happening to my Washburn status. Eventually, the circuitry came out and now it is a passive bass. More popular sound with ex band mates
5. You need to adjust the strap, so that the position of sitting and standing are the same.billy Sheehan has the idea( don't have link). But avoid doing Jason newstead/ hooky poses for long periods,)
6. if you're playing'reign in blood' / overkill ' don't worry . You'll be great,)
7. Suppose you could put something on the Billy Sheehan forum, explaining what happened. Billy's a nice guy, and if you send him email, he may well respond.
8. most of the time(after finishing with bands in the mid90s) I had 3. 1 headless , 1fretless, 1 cricket bat. Got to the middle of the last decade, and I now I have 9!(2 were bought from my friend who did lots for me and was starting his own usiness) Then I got the bug, and started collecting a few. Quit band stuff oct2010, so may get down to 3. May even go down to one
9. Have a nice cat bump. Why is he running away ?
10. Thinking about something with Bluetooth , to match my iPad/iPhone . Any more ideas?
11. I used to have an alligator. It was a drum/ keyboard combo tho' .very good. Sold because the guitarist in my old band said I should have a 'proper' bass amp.,these are heavy , but I liked my old one.
12. Went to richer sounds yesterday , the guy there recommended a Yamaha amp/ velestion speakers . Just been to H m v and liked the look of a single Bose Bluetooth speaker. Which was impressive
13. This also looks good , but I don't need DVD player,) how does tv catchup work from the app ? Does this mean that it appears on my tv and not on the phone? Cheers
14.
I have the Panasonic SC-BTT370 and it seems to do everything you're after.... Has an iPod/iPhone dock too and DNLA And wifi so you could easily stream music from another device... Highly recommended. There is an iPlayer app for Apple products, plus a really good one called TVCatchup.
15. Thanks for input so far, please keep em coming. although I dont watch much tv, does the apple tv app have bbc iplayer on it? Or could I do a wifi job another way from iPad etc? Cheers
16. Howdy I live in an upstairs maissonnette , and am thinking of purchasing a budgety piece of audio For my tv. My bedroom setup has a pair of ceiling speakers which I love.iI have another pair in the hallway. Now here's the trickey bit: I have Cambridge audio amp and b&w bookshelf speakers in the living room. My tv is plugged into that. However, my brother keeps leaving the amp switched on and volume is not turned down before he switches off. What we were thinking of, was maybe a small Bose type system with surround effect Or more ceiling speakers and a cinema type amp. We would like to play our iPad/phone if poss too. Hoping to make purchase by weekend. Any ideas? Cheers
17. Well, I've always been a metal head , but never played enter sandman. Song I always wanted to do for novelty value, Rivers of Babylon. By boney m . I got a lot of abuse , and ridicule when I suggested it. Strange thing is , Mr. Drums started learning it. When he was put off by other band members in my last band. Oh well),
18. I like this thread. It's giving me an idea, believe it or not,) I have a Line 6 ux1, which has a selection of virtual bass amps /effects etc. The box that comes provided, has guitar input, xlr for mic etc.I have a pair of studio monitors plugged in. Since I've lost interest being in bands, my Aguilar ag500c has been lying under the bed. What I did love about the Aguilar , was the fantastic warm sound when I rehearsed or played live. The best sound I've ever used in fact .Tho' previously the Eden nemesis I used to own was also awesome and slightly brighter. Anyway, I wonder if I could plug my aggie into my setup for a different sound?.
19. Niiice bassss! I would love one of these myself, especially white. One tip; if you play gigs , try to leave this at home and buy a battered homer or something,) nice bass bump
20. I'm going through a weird phase at the moment. I'm currently learning iPad apps on keyboard and thinking of trading my 8 string for a guitar. On the app side of things , there aren't enough bass amps around. There are loads of things for guitar. I don't like the feel of the guitar strings compared to bass strings. Just don't feel right. Not sure if I will get used to it if I tried. Good thread this.
21. I'm on block 404 row k . Not impressed !
