And after saying this, the Pensa-Suhr of the late Victor Bailey looks good, while I do not like the maple colour of MM's bass.

It can be read through several comments here already, but I want to point out that adjustments should be done with a new set if strings. Old, worn and dirty strings may give strange results.

Some obvious and some not so obvious suggestions: - Daring Audio Phat Beam for comp and LPF - an auto wah, like Subdecay or IE Xerograph - an octaver, like the small Cog T-16 or Valeton OC-10 - a decent distortion or fuzz combined with the octaver and the comp would make... noise!

Series has the sound and high level, single can be slightly compressed and has that edge. At the moment I might use only single and humbucker in my basses.

You actually want two sounds only. The functional choices are: 1) series - parallel 2) series - single coil Parallel and single coil are so close together that it is pretty hard to hear any distinctive difference between them while playing. Parallel gives slightly more output, but only so little that the difference is very close to nothing. On the other hand single gives slightly more edge (compared to parallel), although we are talking about really tiny details. If you need a boost sometimes in your act, consider the second option, single / humbucker.

Weight? Setup? This kind of monster may be a real steal now, and if the builder gets lots of orders via reputation, the price may rise to unobtanium or similar. Of course the bass may be one of few this guy will ever build and you could get a good deal. If I was not able to test drive a bass, I'd be careful, as always.

You want 19 mm bridge spacing and you are in trouble. Status does not have, neither does MG. Modulus builds wide necks but I only know about complete basses, like Quantum and Genesis. Wide 5 is pretty uncommon, so a luthier could really be your best bet. Graphite is not the most obvious choice and it will definitely cost quite some.

Sliding 'n' finding, yeah, that's fretless.

An Interstellar and a MoBass or a MiniMo are still on my wishlist. There are very few in Reverb and the pricing is everything but modest. IO is really hard to find.

I think I have said this before... I bought an MM neck with a few extras (no dots, tinted green, satin finish). I had the opportunity to speak to honorable Mr. Green in the ordering phase. Very fluent. I also got an estimate of the delivery. I was travelling when a strange number was calling me. It was the wonderful lady Dawn who told me that the neck is ready to be shipped. Two weeks before the estimate (remember: this was a custom order) and the neck came to my house in impeccable shape. I would say that there are shops that have nice products, but people at Status really showed to me the first class service, product, and experience. Once again, thank you all.

I think Duality is furthest away from pure metal, if we compare DG units. I liked the sound a lot, but couldn't find one, when I had the money. I have a Spruce effects Old growth fuzz for "passive" basses and James Brown's (please check) Amptweaker Bass tight fuzz for "active" units. As @lee650 wrote about IE Oxide and "active" basses, I couldn't agree more. The difference between instruments' output impedances is substantial while trying to find "the one". I would only try a fuzz/OD/dist with the intended instrument. The results can be from lousy and ridiculous to a very special. Try before you buy, and if possible, try a few side by side.

To be very precise, the options here are yes/yes. The animals (and woods) turned to oil do not renew at all in any feasible timeline. And they affect our atmosphere, so I do not see choices here, good ones, that is.

Sometimes I feel like a delay... I want to point out that cows are not killed because of the leather. Leather is waste from the meat industry. As long as people eat meat, there will be this material available. Quite a lot, actually. Plastics (oil) or leather, not a simple question. It is very good that people discuss about these moral and environmental issues even here, at our exceptional BC.

- elements (2 x 10" or 2 x 12") - sensitivity - RMS power handling - weight and shape (has to fit my little car) The rest is details. At the moment I could consider GR Bass' lightweight cabs, but I do not need anything at the moment.
