1. Well I can live with two - how many do you need? :-)
2. The thing is Jake, I do love the Sterling but I never use it, so would like to get something else. Besides, you know I don't like owning too many basses at any one time..
3. I'm not keen on shipping, but I'd probably be willing to meet you halfway if that helps?

All gone now. Thanks for all the interest.
5. Thanks Mark. Life is great at the moment. A pity you didn't want it, as it'd have been a good excuse to come up and hang out with you again. I hope you're doing well too. :-)
6. My ongoing house move is prompting me to question whether or not I'm using half of the stuff I own (not just bass equipment). I've come to realise that I haven't used either of these basses for about a year since I really fell in love with my Modulus Funk Unlimited. For that reason, I think it's best that I move these on and spend the money on buying a bass I'll actually use. [s]First is my Musicman Sterling which is the probably the first "proper" bass I've ever owned. We've been through a lot together, and yet it is still in immaculate condition. For this I would be looking for £750.[/s] Second is the Squier Vintage Modified Jazz I bought from Despot. It has seen half of one gig in the time I've owned it, which means there's really no point in me owning it. For this I would like [s]£190[/s] £180 (which I think is what I paid for it). Apologies for the quality of the photographs, but I only have a crumby camera phone. :-) [Edit] I've now decided it's far too much of a wrench to sell my Sterling, so this is now just for my VM Jazz with a price drop to £180 collected, or meet up within reason.

Hi all, sorry for not replying to most of you yet, but I will do. Considering the interest I've had I think what I'll do is split it up and get it shared out.

Edited to include some bass books too.

All gone. Thanks everyone.
10. I don't feel I've wasted any time reading this, as it's been quite entertaining. However, I do agree with a lot of what Edward says, in that if I was going to join a band that someone else was putting together I wouldn't get involved if they hadn't already got a drummer in place. It seems like bassists and drummers are the hardest to find.
11. For anyone considering this, I've known Jakester for several years and play with him in a funk band. I highly recommend him, as a smoking hot drummer!
12. Damn! Where was this when I wanted to buy a used one? I understand your reasons for selling, but I think you're mad (no offence). I had two Compacts, but now own one Compact and a Midget and have found it the most versatile set-up possible. I've gigged with just the Midget and have also used it as my backline when going through the PA and I've never worried about volume. When I want that little bit more, I pair it up with the Compact and prefer it to the two Compacts due to the tone just having a bit more personality. Good luck with the sale though - it won't be around long!
13.
It'll tide me over until you're ready to unload the Modulus, I reckon.
Stop. Looking at some of the stuff for sale at the moment, I'm actually starting to become tempted to offload it. I might gig it tonight just to remind myself why I loved it, even though I was going to use the VMJ.
14. It looks very hot Trev, I think you've done well there!
15. I used to own one. If it's still around next month I might be tempted to re-own one.
16. I thought you had a really great feel, but you are clearly very modest. What's that? You're offering me your onyx Sterling?
17. I bought Trev's Squier VMJ yesterday. He's a thoroughly nice guy a very good bass player.
18.
Hello fellow Devonian, we play in Exeter a lot, though I've not been to Coventry since 1990, has it changed much?
No, it's still grey and miserable. :-)
19. Welcome Liam. I'm from Coventry too and also spent some time time living in Exeter. In my experience Bristol and Exeter have some pretty good scenes going and are both far more diverse than here. Enjoy. :-)
