1. Def Scam, I mentioned to him that he had posted x2 pictures of different Aria SB's, he then posted a third version into the bargain. Sales now pulled - can't think why!! ;o)
2. I remember contacting Wal back in the mid eighties when I had recently purchased a Mk1, in those day's E-mail was something off Star Trek so it was the old fashioned phone or letter. They were magnificent and I ended up visiting the small workshop, building them was a real labour of love and I like to think this is still the case. Would you prefer that a large guitar corporate took them over and we started seeing cheap production line models? Hand built loveyness and for me the best all rounders on the planet, if there is a better fretless than a Wal I have not seen it in my 35 years of playing! They can be slow in responding but they are not a big factory set-up, it's part of the charm!
3. First Batch..
4. Pedulla is right up there with a Wal Fretless, in fact it may surpass in some areas. Considering the silly money Wal's go for this is a total steal. A more beautiful fretless you will never see. Big Bump!
5. Not sure when these new basses wil be released as I can't find any trace of a Squire fretless P anywhere on the web?
6. PM Sent Steve.
7. Mmm Yum! I so want one of these but a month too early for me... Will it still be here Come August so I can buy.....? Bloomin holiday... Seriously if this is still available on August 18th I'll take it..
8. The fretless P looks awsome and judging by past models should sound awesome too! Not sure why fretless P's are so rare?
9. I am confused, according to E-Bay status it sold for £650 is it still available or am I missing something matey?
10. If they want to use the Ray I think Bernard left it to John Taylor of Duran duran in his will?
11. My US P is a back up to my Wal..... Why? Because I am considerably richer than youse! (That's a joke by the way.....)
12. Hello, and welcome aboard!!
13. I see from Karns biog that he and Angie were a little more than friends ;o)
14. If he had asked your permission I would be ok with that, if not a bit naughty for me.
15. They get some second hand beauties in there, I have bought a couple of basses in the past and found them very cool to deal with.
16. Top bloke, love his films. He looks like he could go another 90 years!
17. My bad, just realised my mistake...
18. Folks, There was a rather lovely G&L SB-2 Fretless for sale on Bass Direct for some £950, American made and Ebony board - all great. I did a quick google and found the same basses for sale at just 800 dollars new. Am I missing something? Are there rare ones that go for a little more or is this bass over priced? Ta, Steve.
19. Hi, My posts total shows that I have made some 785 posts, it has been showing that number as long as I can recall. I have made 6 posts in the last week and none of them seem to be reflecting in my posts total? In my settings it shows I have made some 500 more than that?
20. Cheers chaps, the lad in question is now the very happy owner of a 1994 Stingray, he even managed to get it in a black/maple finish. I went with him to try it out and apart form a decent set-up requirement it was fine. £550 sealed the deal.
21. I saw this, he quoted to have lessons by Mr Karn. He maybe right but Mick often said he couldn't think of anything worse than teaching someone else to play as he didn't have the patience or the technique!? Mind you, the signature looked gen. I have an old programme from his sculptures display back in 82 and looked just the same... I'll offer him a ton and get it repaired ;o)
22. One of the young uns I teach Bass to is doing very well and his father has agreed he can upgrade his current bass, he has a bottom of the range Squier P. The son wants a Full blown Ray but his father is a little more realistic with costs, as at 14, he may just give it up in a year or two so his budget is £450/500. He asked me what I though and I gave it a little thought before recommending either a G&L or possibly a SUB I have said I will have a lookout for something that may suit - any thoughts?
23. Welcome aboard matey!
24. Is this forum not called Basschat? For me it's just curiosity nothing more sinister...
25. Welcome aboard matey, I have a horrible feeling that you may get inundated with techie questions So I'll ask an easy one; I was a big fan of Icehouse and seem to recall you joined Iva and the gang in time for the Primitive Man tour, what was your main weapon of choice for the tour? I seem to have a memory of you playing an Aria Pro or am I mistaken?
