  2. useful online nerd info, including his favourite settings for the SVT
  3. Why not keep it and buy the Tony Franklin fretless neck that's for sale, you'd get your money back if circumstances change again
  4. Daniel sold me a set of Chromes, arrived quickly and complete with original package, all good many thanks
  5. Looks like the individual parts of the bridge aren't listed so a case of measure the originals and find replacements https://www.fmicassets.com/Damroot/Original/10001/SM_0144060390_JMJ_Mustang_Bass.pdf
  6. plays fine on here on a pc I could only make out the odd bit of vocal the mix isn't great
  7. I bought Mark's Pedaltrain jnr with case. Thanks for super smooth purchase experience, really well packed and quickly delivered despite the lockdown, all good
  8. Chester Odeon 1980 Ace of Spades tour, mega, tinnitus for days after, they turned it all the way up to 11 😍
  9. Loz, as he signs himself in pms, sold me an absolute stunner of a fretless Jazz bass, shipped during lockdown in a hard case, possibly the one from AndyTravis, really well packed in a proper strong guitar box, tracked next day delivery and of course it arrived in perfect state and has made me very happy. I could only quarantine it for 24 hours before I just had to 'clean' it and play it. Top man, many thanks
  10. like all Dysons, too damm noisy
  11. My first bass was also an EB2, a later one , iirc 1968, blonde, single neck pickup, heavy, high action, lousy intonation, shot electrics, an absolutely beautiful piece of furniture, but hard to play and so not the sound I was trying to make which was reggae played on a JB or PB; paid £150 for it ( roughly 7 weeks dole money back then), complete with similarly battered original case from a guy who worked with my mate at Windows in Newcastle in late 1985 and I swapped it three years later for an nice old cheap archtop guitar with a friend who really wanted it, when I left Newcastle. We lost touch about 15 years ago as I stopped going to London and he never leaves London except to go to see his family in Italy, I hope he still has it. The archtop got stood on by an idiot (me 🙄)
  12. Just worth noting these are in stock again at £30, 91 left
  13. my package shipped Wednesday with UPS, has arrived in the UK, so I expect to get it on Tuesday
  14. I bought some pickups off ThomannUK site yesterday, when I started looking into them were £111 and by the time I bought them after checking prices from other suppliers and checking out reviews they had gone down to £109 so they obviously update the prices pretty regularly, probably daily, as the currency changes; with paypal checkout there's no fees or currency charges you pay in £ Paypal billed me £109 as advertised and charged £109 to my bank account

  19. Many thanks for the interest in this, it is now SOLD
  20. I remember Chris from when he cut his teeth on the Tube and the like, doesn't look like he's changed at all
  21. James/Jim bought my signature Kala SUB UBass, lovely easy transaction, great comms and very quick to let me know it had arrived safely and he was happy I look forward to seeing what comes out of his guitar workshop 😎
  22. The three I saw live late 70's/1980 Rush Thin Lizzy Queen (Liverpool Empire, the best gig I ever saw, at their real pomp with an audience who sang Walk Alone at the band with barely any prompting) and the ones I didn't see Bob Marley and the Wailers(turned down a ticket to Deeside, biggest regret of my musical life), Pink Floyd(brother sold his spare Wall tickets for big money, took a long time to forgive him for that), Weather Report (missed them at Glastonbury as stuck on Guernsey)
  23. Been asked about weight sorry I didn't have the details to hand yesterday when I listed but have got it out and tried weighing it this morning - I've tried different scales cheap luggage scale, bathroom scales and post scales (difficult to get a consistent reading on these) and get somewhere between 3895g and 4010g so I'd say 8.8lbs, none of the scales are calibrated/tested and the bathroom scales only read in 0.5Kg increments Nut width is 42mm Fretboard radius is 7.25"
  24. I've seen a fretless that I'd like to buy, and since the seller is also selling a fretted P I'll not bother him with trade request so will put this up for sale in the belief of if it is meant to be it will be Fender Precision Bass Made In Japan 1990/91 PB57/500 Two colour Sunburst / Maple. Lovely sounding and playing, player grade, Precision Bass, in good used condition. Purchased from Bass Direct, has great sounding original type '57 pickups with staggered pole pieces. Fujigen built with typical of era quality Japanese parts and build quality. Solid one piece maple neck, truss rod adjustment at heel of neck. Instrument is currently set up with a fairly straight neck and low action to suit me. Complete with used Fender ABS hard case in good condition. You are welcome to come and try the instrument out here in Llanfyllin Any questions please ask, either through pm or by telephone 01691 648011. I have some additional photos saved and can take more if required, though outdoor shots with good natural light maybe difficult given the weather. Thanks for looking
  25. Ebay used Fender Bass prices have dropped I think by 10-20% in the last month, MIM Jazz and Precisions go for 300-350, if they are auctions with a low starting price, and most listed with high start prices tend to be pulled before they sell as no longer available so I'd assume they are also for sale on FB or advertised elsewhere so face to face deals for less than advertised Ebay price get done; Telecasters always do seem to be overpriced though, both Squiers and Fender so much so that new Squier FSR Bullet Tele at sub £150 for a well made really playable guitar (albeit thinner body but very resonant) make a lot of sense for instant gratification and incremental upgrading
