  1. Just bought Zoom B3 from Paul, aka @rainbowreality who has been a pleasure to deal with from start to finish! Great comms, super-helpful, brilliant packaging and very easy to talk to... ...So, I'm more than happy to recommend Paul to one and all here on Basschat! Thanks again Paul, and here's to the next one... 👍😊 Cheers Nik
  2. Great stuff @BigRedX! Tracks sound really good , but like @dmccombe7 above, I prefer the original version as it embodies the sound and feel of your band. That said, it's brilliant to have such a brilliant remix for Clubs! Is that an old Vivian Westwood pirate shirt, circa 1980, that I see in some of your band images by any chance?
  3. Giving this lovely Maya bass a BUMP this evening... It really does need to find a new home where it can be played and appreciated. Happy to listen to offers and trade suggestions.. Cheers Nik
  4. One of the best bass players of all time, IMHO, who was fortunate and/or lucky to be in of the greatest rock bands of all time. Whatever any of us thinks of his bass tone or his personality, JE's musicianship and place in the history of bass guitaring is assured! Having said that, he was definitely a bit of a miserable barsteward, but given his very long career and the number of interviews he would have done over that time - plus a very insipid and slightly sycophantic interviewer on this occasion - I'm not surprised it wasn't a great listen or watch. I met him very briefly once in the mid 80s at a Daily Mirror Pop Party in London.. Me and the drummer in the band I was in at the time went up to say hello to him and, despite JE having two semi-naked Page 3 girls fawning all over him (one on either arm) , he still looked and sounded utterly bored, miserable and pissed off... 🤷
  5. Great looking cabs, Gareth... Never heard of the FMC brand before, but if you're a fan of them, then they must good! The 1210 in particular looks like a great one cab solution... Very sorry to hear about the impending redundancy btw. Best wishes with whatever your next steps are job wise and GLWTS.. 🙏😊👍
  6. Fantastic basses, these, and going back a decade or so, DJ5s were the Super Jazz 5 of choice on this forum... I bought one almost exactly the same as this from @P-T-P in 2007 or 2008, and I still regret selling it, which I stupidly did a few years later. 🤦 The necks on these is about the best you can get on a 5 string at this price point, and so is the clarity of the B string - excellent as I recall. Plus, these basses have a beautifully even tone across all of the five strings. And, what's more, these sound like Jazz Bass should - not a super modern hi-fi tone; more of a proper, natural, woody, jazz bass guitar tone!! These days, I hardly use my 5 string basses (and I still have 2), otherwise I would be very, very tempted by this, especially at this price. GLWTS 👍😊
  7. Happy Saturday, Folks! Another BUMP for this fine example of Mesa bass amp engineering - it really is a class act! You won't find many Class A/B amps that only weigh 25 lbs with this much clean power, clear headroom and tonal punch! Trades Happy to entertain trade offers now by the way ; studio gear, interesting fx pedals, 6-string electro-acoustics, all valve amps, etc, etc. Cheers, Nik
  8. Stunning @jay-syncro! GLWTS 👍😊
  9. Gorgeous looking bass! At the risk of derailing your thread, I'd say if it were fretless, it could be considered very 'Beedsteresque' (if such a word existed @Beedster? 😁) Anyway, back on topic, it's a seriously cool looking P Bass and best of luck with the sale! 👍😊
  10. Happy Saturday, Folks! Somehow, I've remembered to give this lovely Maya bass a BUMP this morning as it really does need to find a new home where it can be played and appreciated. Trades I've had a rethink on this so, could now be tempted by a nice electro-acoustic 6-string, or an all valve head maybe, interesting pedals, studio gear... Who knows? Whatever - I'm open to having conversations with anyone who might have any interesting trade offers. Cheers, Nik
  11. That's a great price for a super-jazz of this quality! And having had an Xotic 5 previously (though not this exact model), I can totally agree with your comments @Stephen Houghton about how good these basses really are... What's more, I've had the pleasure of playing this one and it's a real beauty! Sounds brilliant and is effortless to play. GLWTS 👍😊
  12. That's a very cool looking 4003, @Clarky! Good price too... GLWTS 👍😊
  13. Beautiful looking bass, Brian! That really is a fabulous, dark rosewood fretboard too... GLWTS 👍😊
  14. Very sad news.... 😞 RIP Sam.
  15. Love this story @TheGreek! Thanks for sharing it.... 🙏
  16. Happy Bank Holiday Friday, Folks! Figured I'd better give this beautiful and seemingly, quite unique, bass a BUMP, as it needs to find a new home. Cheers, Nik
  17. Happy Bank Holiday Friday, Folks! Figured I'd better give this amp a BUMP, as it needs to find a new home. Cheers, Nik
  18. Thanks for your expertise and insights as ever @Bassassin.. 🙏 Glad to hear you think it's a mid-late 70s example, and it is as you say, a thing of beauty! Who would've thought those little spanners are so rare.. 🤔🤷😁
  19. Thanks Chris, I remember the 212 combo you had; it looked like a serious piece of kit! Wasn't it the M3, as opposed to the M6 ?
  20. Sounds very familiar... 🤔 .. It's like having Trump's tariff wars imposed mercilessly, and without warning, on a few simple musician folks getting on with their day to day business of bass guitar trading... Shocking! 😉😁 On a more serious note, I really like the tone of the Danelectro basses too, though I've never owned one.
  21. Only 4, Chris? 🤣 Seriously, thanks for pointing that out. 👍😊 This bass does have a lovely tone, despite my rather lame efforts at playing it..
  22. It's 3.9k, or 8.6 lbs in old money. And just to say, that was done using the old-fashioned method of weighing myself on the scales first, then weighing myself with the bass.
