Cheers chaps! 😊 @obbm - it's not the lightest of basses Dave being Ash, but it's not the heaviest either. I should weigh it actually.. 🤔 @burno70 - yep, me too. I've a 5 string bass with the same Ash body, black pickguard configuration. @Bassassin - absolutely; it's really well put together..

Cheers Folks, Been playing it all afternoon and it's great.. 😊 Fabulous tone, sort of thick and woody but if you open the tone control all the way up, it gets much more clanky!

Hi Folks Don't often do this but with this one I thought I must.. So, there I was in my local music shop in Bognor Regis (Mike's Music) buying some strings when I saw this hanging on the wall looking a bit unloved.. Being the kind chap that he is, Mike let me have a trial with the bass and after spending some time with it at home, I realised it was a must have.. As far as I can tell from the serial number, its a Made in Japan 1991/2 Fender Precision. Sounds great, beautiful Ash body and maple neck and is in brilliant condition for a 27 year old bass. Happy days, or should I say, happy NBDs! Thanks for looking.. 😊

Yamaha BB734A in dark coffee sunburst - new price £500
silverfoxnik replied to udo's topic in Basses For Sale
Had the pleasure of playing this bass recently and it's absolutely fabulous ; beautifully constructed, lightweight and it plays effortlessly.. As if that isn't enough, it sounds great too - a really balanced output between the two pick ups and has such a sweet tone. And that's just the passive setting.. It does even more when the active circuit is kicked in. And, IMHO, its a bit of a looker too. I know it's a bit of a Basschat cliché, but whoever buys this will not be disappointed! GLWTS Udo 😊 -
SOLD - Epiphone Thunderbird Vintage Pro - New Price £300
silverfoxnik replied to udo's topic in Basses For Sale
These really are great basses! I played one owned by @cetera at last years South East Bass Bash and I was amazed at how good it was.. Really versatile tonally and very well made too - it compared very favourably with the build quality of the Gibson Thunderbird I had at the time. This looks like a very nice example and at a very keen price too considering the case, new strings etc. GLWTS 😊 -

Welcome to the 513th South East Solar System Bass Bash... Our Hamster-Bot will relieve you of 10 credits at the holo-registration counter, whilst the Silverfoxnik-Bot will escort you to the S1m0n-Bot workshop on how to use your hi-speed, quantum particle drive Compressor.. Meanwhile, in the Jam Room, Paul our drummer-bot is somewhat delayed on the M25 Saturn's Ring ring Road. For those who entered the Raffle back in the 21st Century, the winning tickets are still being called...- 65 replies

Sad news.. 😢 A fave London venue of mine back in the day. Unfortunately, this is the pattern all over the country now with well-known and not so well-known venues closing down with nothing decent in the way of music venues to replace them. It's an absolute scandal really and so, so short sighted... Especially when you think of all the money generated in the UK economy over the years by successful acts - from the Beatles to the Stones and hundreds of others - who would most likely have got their start in venues like The Borderline.

Echoing pretty much all of the above.. I still have regrets about having had to sell most of the basses that I've owned over the past 40 years or so, but definitely regret the sale of some much more than others.. I doubt it'll ever change to be honest. Having said that, I'm pretty happy with the bases I still own, so for now, all is well.. 😊
