I've still got my old Peavey Mk IV, which this model kind of superceded and that still sounds great to me..so I'm betting this sounds pretty good and is certainly going to be as good (if not better) than anything that's available in this price range. Plus, Jon's a great bloke who knows his gear and looks after it, so you can be sure this will be everything it should be.. Good luck with it!
 2. This used to be mine and before that it was bottomfeed's for quite a few years.. Very, very good amp indeed and like a lot of Peavey equipment, great value for money and built like a tank.. I sold it to buy an Eden head but still miss it for that crunchy valve sound from time to time tbh.. Plus the crossover function is really useful if you're running two cabs! Anyway, it goes without saying that Jon's a top bloke, knows his stuff and is very honest and upfront about buying/selling gear, so you can deal with him with confidence. Good luck with the sale!
 3.
Yep - fully flightcased, with a polishing cloth too. I got OBBM to knock up some special power cables for him too, so you can run him off the mains rather than batteries.
Can you turn the automatic music setting off, or down at least?
 4.
This is the best all-round cab I've ever had and I've had a few in my time It's light, loud, deep and punchy. It has castors too...
Great looking rig Al!
 5.
+1,000. Tweeters are to bass cabs as tits are to bulls. What's required are midrange drivers, which actually give useful response and dispersion that woofers cannot. They're generally not employed because they cost more than tweeters. Tweeters capable of working down to 2kHz are effective, but to make another animal based analogy they are as common as teeth on hens.
+1 To me, there's something slightly artifical about the way some cabs with tweeters seem to reproduce the really hi-frequencies...
 6.
Howdy &welcome! Now that you're a newbie (as we all were) you will find this site friendly and accomodating, altho' it's frowned upon if you use this site only to sell stuff. I would suggest you take pics of the basses in question, and go to the for sale section. You can then put out a 'feeler'. Judging by what you're selling, someone on here is sure to snap it up. Good luck with the sale
+1 Welcome to BC... It is wierd though how Warwicks appear to have taken a bit of a beating when it comes to selling s/h?? Didn't that happen to MM Stingrays as well recently...
 7. Absolutely fabulous! Wish I had something to trade and that I didn't have a self-enforced 'bass embargo' happening here at Silverfox Towers at the moment.. Good luck with it!
 8.
Will do Nik. Moving house this weekend but I'll get in touch next week. Had an interesting chat about Wals yesterday I need to run by you....
Sounds interesting.. Hope the house move goes OK!

 10. The '73 Jazz is fabulous! Lots of other nice stuf too, but that '73 is just perfect...

Damn, should have grabbed it while I had the chance Can't temp you then Nik, going past Clacketts a few times a week at present....
Would love to catch up for a chat and maybe a pint Chris.. No plans for new basses though so maybe a trip to Beedster Towers is in order? Will PM you.. Good luck with the sale!
 14. Three very nice basses and certainly that Ibanez looks great! Shame it's not fretted.... Good luck with the sales
 15.
Beedster without a Precision.......... that's just wrong !!
+1 It just ain't right.. Reminds me of the witches speech at the beginning of the Scottish Play when they describe the world having gone mad... "Fair is foul, and foul is fair"!! Lovely looking bass though Chris; you do have a knack with putting these together.. Good luck with sale/trade No.47326..
 16.
I like that!
Me too...
 17.
The SE bash was a model of organisation sir ...
Thanks Urb; we tried out some new ideas and they worked well in the main. But as Mert said, we did talk afterwards about improving on that at a later Bash.. So if Birdy's suggestion for the next National Bash becomes a reality, then I'd be happy to chip in any ideas, feedback suggestions etc towards the it. Nik
 18.
Was a good warm up for the Water Rats on Friday.
Always loved the Water Rats as a venue but never played there myself.. Have a good one!
 19. I'm really up for another event like last year's one in March as it was so much fun and there really is nothing like meeting everybody and putting the faces to the names/avatars! As people have already said, it was a problem with being it a bit cramped for space and there were noise issues too.. But we kind of got around those issues at the SE Bash last September where we had 2 rooms and organised a few 'intervals' just to give everyon'e ears a rest.. We also did some workshops which seemed to work well too. These events do take a lot of organising, so well done for bringing the idea up now ahead of time...
 20.
The only thing I might suggest is trying to find a similar 88 Stage II as a backup. Never go out with just one instrument. The statistics WILL catch up, sooner or later...
+1 That's good advice..
and now the hunger is building up, i think i can except the fact that the Stage II is THE bass for me, my numero uno, and bass for life, but at 23 i can't be tied down like that, i need something to make me want to deviate even just for a little while..... or should i just be happy with it? Perhaps its the buying and selling i miss? anybody else got what i suppose you could call a wife bass? did you have the one and then let another in? How did it go? and are you still with her?
As for the future, well the statistics in this country aren't very good where 'wives' are concerned, or husbands and marriages for that matter! So at 23 you can expect to have at least a couple of break-ups and a divorce or two along the way.. Better get out there quick and have a fling or two with some new basses!
 21.
For me in particular distinctly average bordering sh*te and I played much of the evening like a complete @rse, still most of those there seemed to get into it. Shame for the first one back at the gig in nearly 7 years and at a gig that has seen some great nights in the past, including the last gig with our old vocalist before he emigrated, which I still listen to the tape of once in a while and still chokes me up Overall sound took a while to get there. Bass was there when I was right on top of it but I had to be in just the right spot, though I was assured it was getting through. Not helped by the fact that it was not in my monitors, so I gave up on the 'phones completely quite early on. Vocalist lost his voice towards the end and while he's generally a good front man on a couple of occasions disappeared off into the bottom of the L to the right of the stage for the lead break then stayed there to sing the following verse so we were playing along to a disembodied voice which kind of p1ssed me off. Ah well there's always next Friday in Bognor, but that may be harder work as I think the second guitarist is n/a
Sorry to hear that Al.. Where's the Bognor gig as I'd like to come to that as I haven't seen you guys for a while and I'm missing my 'White Punks...' fix? We had a really good one at The Elms in Worthing last night, so we're on a run of 3 good gigs in a row now, so going by the law of averages, I expect the next one will be sh*te. I played the whole gig with my Fender Jazz 5 with it's EBS pre-amp and it sounded bloody brilliant... May have to rethink my whole attitude to Active vs Passive basses as a result??
 22.
Great work Chris - looks brilliant!
+1 Looks like a lovely peice of ash.. no wonder it's heavy!
 23. Thanks! I must check those out...
